We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabehah Aneesa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabehah, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business/career has taught me is that you cannot be successful without organization and consistency. I have failed numerous times just trying to launch and relaunch my brand, and I wasn’t happy with the results because I lacked order in my daily routine. It is crucial to have an organized plan to execute tasks effectively and build a habit of consistency. Success will not occur overnight for most people, so you have to work hard AND intelligent to be the success story you desire to be.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a certified international skincare consultant and self taught makeup artist. I help women take the stress out of their daily beauty routines, teach proper skincare and makeup application and provide knowledge on the skin. Getting to this point was not the easiest, however, I show appreciation to my process because that how I have learned. I am currently enrolled in online makeup artistry school to become a professional makeup artist and further advance my skills. My will to do great things have allowed me to teach myself what I know and being taught by professionals who have been in the beauty industry for years working on celebrities, influencers and everyday people like me will set me apart from the rest. I would like the world to know that my goal is to serve, not just make women look pretty. I want to teach women to love their natural face by taking care of it and know how to accentuate their natural features, using makeup, with the intent to highlight, not hide them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m originally from New Jersey, but recently moved from California, so I am still fairly new to the area and I don’t know all the places to have fun. But since I don’t drink, my idea of a good time is getting cute, eating great food, thrifting, getting some sun, and just explore. I have been to TOAST for brunch so we’d definitely hit them up a time or two. I also love being around nature so taking hikes and finding hidden beauties to just be at peace with the earth. I’m all about having fun without doing the norm like going to clubs, drinking, etc. because I desire to live a healthier and more peaceful life as each year passes.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The two most impactful people I have to thank for where I am in my career is first, Allah (God). I was raised Muslim and in the past 5 years I have been working to rebuild my relationship with my creator because I wouldn’t even be here or have a platform to offer my gifts and share my story with large amounts of people. He’s been preparing me for the difficult journey of entrepreneurship and I am so grateful to be in the position I am in to grow. I would secondly like to thank my husband Zared, who is also an entrepreneur, for being my voice of reason and the one I can count on when seeking advice and listening to my business ideas. I don’t know who I would have business meetings with, FOR FREE, if I didn’t have him as a partner.
