We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
One, I think it’s important to have multiple income streams and never be reliant on just one. So, besides my corporate career, my wife and I own two small businesses, and we’ll likely own/start more in the future.

Two, we want to leave our children businesses in industries that will be hard to be replaced by robotics, AI, etc.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My wife and I own two small businesses. One is Sempre Day & Medical Spa in John’s Creek. We bought a day spa and then added the medical piece. Adding the medical piece was a bigger challenge than we could have imagined! My wife is the true entrepreneur behind that business. We now offer a large range of services from massages, facials, injectables, weight loss, laser services, as well as body and face contouring.

RED-E-BINS is a dumpster service that was started in Canada and is now in about a dozen cities in the US. The bin system allows for more efficient deliveries, can be placed in tight areas and in a safer manner than traditional roll offs. Getting rid of unwanted junk isn’t easy or convenient in Atlanta, so when I saw this business, I instantly recognized it as a service our area needed. Currently we offer the service in most of Northern Atlanta and I’m excited about growing the business in more areas of Atlanta.

Both businesses provide their challenges, but my wife and I seem to overcome them by testing out new ideas, see what works, figure out what doesn’t, and then we adjust as necessary. We are both business-minded people so we are able to bounce ideas off of one another, ask how the other may tackle a tough situation, etc.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Milton, Ga with my wife and 3 young kids. When family and friends come to visit we go to some of favorite locally owned restaurants nearby like Crabapple Tavern, The Union, or Tokyo Boat. Our kids are in a lot of activities, so we usually end up at one their football or baseball games. If we venture out, we like to go to a Braves game or go boating on Lake Lanier.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife has always believed in me and was the one who encouraged me to pursue my dream of being an entrepreneur. I was always looking at business opportunities, but never pulled the trigger. I’m not sure I would have without her initial push and support.
