We had the good fortune of connecting with RYAN BUCK and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi RYAN, what do you attribute your success to?
The most crucial factor contributing to the success of our brand is our strong emphasis on community and local support. By prioritizing artists and putting them first, we’ve created a platform that fosters genuine connections and meaningful engagement. This approach not only resonates with our audience but also enriches the overall music ecosystem, leading to the recognition and growth of our brand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Terminus Hate City stands apart as a unique business born from grassroots origins deeply intertwined with music and community. What sets us apart is our genuine connection to the artists and the local music scene we serve. Unlike others, we aren’t just a business; we’re musicians ourselves, actively participating in the very community we support. This symbiotic relationship infuses our brand with authenticity and a true understanding of the needs and aspirations of artists. Our journey to where we are today has been one of resilience and dedication. It certainly wasn’t an easy path. We faced numerous challenges along the way, including financial uncertainties and navigating the ever-evolving music industry landscape. However, we overcame these hurdles by prioritizing the community’s needs over immediate financial gains. This approach not only fostered trust but also allowed us to grow collectively. Years of trial and error were essential components of our growth. Each challenge we encountered served as a lesson, teaching us valuable insights about managing the delicate ecosystem of bands, musicians, and live music. The pandemic presented an unprecedented obstacle, testing our adaptability and creativity. We learned to pivot and find innovative ways to keep the music alive despite the restrictions. At the core of our mission is the desire to showcase the incredible talent within the Atlanta artist community and the global heavy music scene. Our brand isn’t just about a business; it’s a platform that amplifies the voices of artists who often go unheard. We want the world to recognize the diverse and powerful expressions that emerge from these communities. Our journey has been shaped by the music that drives us and the shared vision of rising together. As we continue forward, we carry with us the lessons learned, the bonds forged, and an unyielding commitment to showcasing the vibrant soul of the Atlanta artist community and the global heavy music scene.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
East Atlanta Village is a good place to start, tons of amazing food and shops. Not far from there is Little 5 points. The Flatiron is pretty much the quintessential underground bar in Atlanta, great food and cheap drinks. There are so many great venues to visit so definitely have to see some local bands and dive into the mixing pot of culture the city has always had.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! In my journey, I owe a significant shoutout to Ede Wright and Mike Maxwell, my musical mentors. Their influence not only shaped my approach to music but also impacted my life profoundly. Their guidance, support, and mentorship paved the way for my growth and success. Additionally, I’d also like to recognize the entire local music community that has been a constant source of inspiration and encouragement, driving me forward. Their collective efforts have played a vital role in shaping my story and deserve recognition for their integral part in my journey.
