We had the good fortune of connecting with Roshanda Pratt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roshanda, what do you attribute your success to?
There are several factors behind the success of my business; the support of my family, my faith, great mentors, coaches and trainers. But what has become my secret weapon is a group of women known as my brain trust. Former President Franklin Roosevelt had a brain trust during his administration. This group is a team of close advisers, who have a specific expertise in a particular field. My brain trust of five hold me accountable, sow into my business endeavors, speak into my business and lend support with their business when necessary. This is not just a one way street as I do the same for them too. The reason why this has added in the success in my business because I have a group of people who are aware and attached to what is happening in my company. They have a vested interest in seeing me win, which also helps them as well. This has been one the best collaborations. This is my own board of directors for my business. It has supported me in working smarter, strategically and greater impact which has resulted in more income. Do your business a favor, develop a brain trust.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company REP Network, LLC is a multi-media company specializing in media training and video production. I am known most in the digital streets as The Rosho Live, storyteller, livestream strategist and heart-felt producer. I have a live video show on Monday nights at 8:45 p.m. eastern standard time teaching and equipping people to find their voice, clarify their message to impact the world. Stories give people permission. I take great pleasure in helping people discover their voice and own their genius. I am proud of the individuals, companies and brands who come to us to help them tell an authentic and compelling story. Stories matter. Your story matters and it needs to be told. Besides our skills in broadcast journalism, crisis communication, marketing, branding and video marketing, we have a keen sense of connecting the dots to create a powerful picture that influences and impacts audiences. One of the main struggles early on was finding the power in my own voice. I worked behind the scenes as a news producer, writing the news anchors would read on air. They would read my words, yet I had no value or trust in them. I had to find my voice and learn to own my genius, even if it did not look like how I thought it would. I always knew I would be in the media, but I thought it would be in the news. Now, I have my own Facebook Live show and a growing audience that tunes in. I want people to realize playing small or to the background is a disservice to you and God. Your visibility is power and now is the time to stand in it.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
People forget running a business is a team effort. If you have a family the whole family is involved even if they did not sign up for it. Thank you to my husband for setting the tone in our household of service first. Thank you to our three children for always rolling with the changes and making sacrifices without uttering one complaint. You all are the real M.V.P’s. Love you BIGGER!
