We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosetta Ferby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosetta, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I want to have multiple streams of income. In preparation for my retirement, I will have another income to supplement the difference if I retire early. Plus, I wanted to have enough income so that my mom do not have to work.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a travel agent and decided to do this business, cause I have been putting together trips for years. Someone suggested why don’t you get paid for doing what you love. The light bulb went off and I do like what I do and make my customers happy and satisfied.

There is a need for a travel agent-we take the guesswork out of researching and evaluating the many options available to travelers, saving you time and the hassles. It was not easy when I first started due to the pandemic and there was no travel. But I kept working on my business through social media platforms and praying for strength to hang in there and not give up. Each day I was getting confirmation from my prayers that things are going to get better.

I will tell people not to give up, and to keep promoting their service in due time it will pay off. You have to keep working on your business, success is not made overnight. If you fail, it’s okay. Keep going it’s all part of the process. “Don’t Give Up”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them Downtown on Broadway. We would first the African American Museum, Nissan Stadium (Home of the Titans), Nashville Hop On and Hop off Bus tour, Frist Center, and Ryman Auditorium. Take a stroll down Riverfront Park. If they wanted something sweet we can visit the Goo Goo Shop.

We can visit Gaylord Opryland Hotel and have dinner on the General Jackson showboat. Shop at Opry Mills Mall.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother Ann encourages me each and every day. My business partners in the industry share their knowledge on how to increase your income in this business.
