Meet Romeo Etienne | Actor , Writer, and Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Romeo Etienne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Romeo, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“One secret of success in life is for a man to be ready for his opportunity when it comes.” In other words “If you stay ready you don’t have to get ready “ This is so important to me because you never know when your moment will come. Preparation is essential in all things. For example it’s like 5am on a Monday before heading to the gym , I decided to check my email. I was expecting some notes back from my production partner ( Hope Hollinsworth Coaxum ) due to us working on rewrites for our film called “30 and Dating “ . I seen that I was contacted to be apart of a horror film called “ Spirit of Ecstasy “. The director informed me that they would like to offer me this important role. Up to that point in my career I have never done a horror film so I was intrigued. When I asked when would they will begin filming. He simply stated “I know it’s short notice but 9am “. In that moment I could of said no due to it being that short of a window to learn my character and breakdown all of his ins and outs on top of his dialogue. But I prepare for these moments and opportunities. Because of my commitment to my craft I read the script , became the character and showed up on set at 8:30am. Shoutout to Sean Kelly for that opportunity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have seen my share of ups and downs in the film industry. As an actor, establishing my own production company allows me to take charge of my career and create opportunities for myself that I may not have had otherwise. It’s a proactive approach to overcome the challenges of waiting for roles or potentially being overlooked in a competitive industry. I can develop and produce projects that showcase my skills and strengths as an actor, giving me a chance to explore diverse characters and tell compelling stories that resonate with audiences. It also allows me to collaborate with talented individuals in the film industry and build relationships with like-minded artists. Ultimately, it empowers me to have a greater influence over my career trajectory and opens doors to new possibilities, both as an actor and as a creative behind the camera.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I mean we would definitely have to make a few stops lol. I’m a foodie like a real foodie lol . It’s so serious that I probably follow more restaurants and food trucks then I do people on social media lol. I have a list of so many places saved in my phone in different states that I plan on visiting lol please don’t judge me lol. But when it comes to Atlanta there are so many places so much to choose from. I mean to name a few Triple Jays Pizza located on Piedmont best pizza in Atlanta. Atlanta breakfast club is definitely a vibe. Amalphi in Buckhead best Italian food, Big Dave’s cheesesteaks is fire, and of course for a good time , good drinks , and good food Suite lounge those red velvet waffles are amazing lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As far as credit in my journey. I have to , want to first and foremost thank GOD because I wouldn’t be here without him. Growing up the way I did, not knowing who you really are and what or where you come from due to being placed in foster care at a very young age. It was my faith in GOD that has brought me this far. Witnessing from where he brought me out from and where he is taking me. All I can say is thank you and remain grateful because I know this is just beginning of my winning season.
