We had the good fortune of connecting with Rodney Iler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
On July 13, 2024, I released my latest single entitled “Yes Forever” and it is available on all digital media outlets. I feel like this song is a great representation of how my artistry is different from others in the industry. While there are thousands of extremely great artists out there, I feel that music is different because it creates a generational gap between old-school Christians and new-school Christians. I am a millennial whose focus and heart are centered on serving God and his people through my ministry. The balance of these 2 facts helps me to create versatile music that both captivates the ear and attention of younger audiences looking for a fun way to have a relationship with Jesus while at the same time invoking the presence of the Lord tangibly through hymns and songs that created to bast in the presence of who Jesus is.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a church kid so we would be at almost every church service happening during that week! Typically I don’t eat before church but if I were to eat before church, I’d probably get something light, like Dunkin Donuts. After our afternoon services, I LOVE to go to Longhorns Steakhouse. Then after we get out of night service, I would most likely take them to Waffle House because I feel like, you’re not a true church kid if you don’t go to Waffle House once you get out of church at 12 and 1 am!

When I’m not in church I love to shop so we would hit Lenox Mall. I love to bowl even though sometimes my skills stay in the bed but we would have to have some fun at Pink Strikes. I also love going to the movies, as long as I’m not seeing a scary movie. So, I would take my best friend to AMC Theatres and have a good time in a movie, preferably a funny one.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to first give glory, honor, and thanks to God for everything he has, is, and is preparing to do in my life, none of this would be possible without his grace and favor. I’d also like to shout out the AMAZING team that has helped create all of my projects from band members, background vocalists, featured artists, content creators, admin, event volunteers, photographers, and graphic designers, to even all of my supporters. Without the role that each of you plays individually, this would not be possible. Success is not complete without the “u”!
