Meet Roc Reels: Cinematic Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roc Reels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roc, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Stepping out on faith, trusting God and never give up on myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other cinematic directors and film makers is the fact that I always go over and beyond for each client that trusts me with bringing their vision to life. I`m most proud and excited about me being able to film in Antalya Turkey with Bread Winner Kane. Being their seven days, I filmed four music videos, one with an artist from Ghana Africa, two of which was viewed on BET Fresh Face Friday`s. The whole while thanking God for blessing me with this gift. Establishing Roc Reels Media on a professional level was not easy at all. I struggled with being homeless almost two years and never stopped working on bettering my self in the process. I overcame that and made a way the whole time without making any excuses for the situation I was in. I overcame that challenge with God`s grace and mercy. The one lesson I learned along the way was to never give up on my dreams, and to give more than I receive. Me and my business partner/best friend Naimah Elmore, we do a giveaway to the homeless every two months called Give Love To Birmingham. I want the world to know that I am one of the most humble, thankful, yet giving person around. Myself and my brand Roc Reels Media including Alicia`s Coffee will be the best media company and coffee brand in the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly I don`t really hang out much, I`m 9 times out 10 working on my craft or chilling with friends and family. But if so I would bring them to my office building, where you have Smash Bros Radio, DDG Studios, Alicia`s Coffee, and Mars2PlutoBeats all under one roof. And with us there`s never a dull moment, someone will cook great food and we will definitely share lots of laughs and love with whomever we come in contact with during their stay. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
