We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” ~ Henry David Thoreau. My life path has not always been clear to me. I didn’t plan my path out like others might. I have had to feel my way through the journey. However, I always had this inner assurance that things were going to work out and I would end up at some point a “success”.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, I had imagined that I’d be a full-time entrepreneur by 2025. My dream arrived 5 years earlier. I pivoted out of education this May into having a real estate business. Along with this, I began a community project that focuses on bring awareness about labor inequities and the wealth gap with real estate being a part of that. I am excited to develop a real estate business that will educate others about homeownership, wealth building and career opportunities in real estate. The transition into business & the community has felt really natural. I worked with students this summer and will continue to do so while developing my business. It’s like I have the best of both careers, education + real estate; it’s a good marriage. I have learned to follow my heart. I have made some bold decisions without calculating the cost and I did because it felt right for me. I want the world to know I serve, I am here to serve…whether Human Resources, Education now Real Estate, I SERVE!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh gosh, we would do so much! We must workout and get the fitness flow started by going to EFFECT Fitness and/or climbing Stone Mountain. We would have breakfast/brunch at Highland Bakery, Flying Biscuit. Definitely, walk some miles on the Beltline and through Piedmont Park. We would take a trip to Whole Foods to shop for food and beverages, visit the spa at St. Regis Hotel for a massage then go later in the week to Treat Your Feet. We would have to visit the High Museum, hit up Modern Mystic in Ponce City Market, Crystal Blue in Lil Five Points….lastly, tailgate for the Dawgs and Falcons! COVID has derailed much of that, tho!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe any and everyone who has crossed my path deserves some credit for me being who I am. Our journey is comprised of all the moments we experience, not only good but the uncomfortable & hurtful ones as well. I amthankful for my grandparents who unconditionally loved me, my parents for instilling in me strong life principles, my sisters who helped me develop as a leader being the oldest, all my spiritual teachers who helped me tap into my deeper & higher self, all my teachers & professors who cultivated my curiosity for learning, my career/business colleagues and life teachers who encouraged me to be my best ambitious self. All of my students whom I encountered as a middle school counselor and college Resident Director. Lastly, my sweet daughter, Asya and my 3 babydaughters, Laigen, Serenity and Honysti for just loving me for ME! Those beautiful souls gave & give me purpose daily!
