We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Westmoreland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
“Take your time healing.” Nah. You can take your time, but most people are just stalling. Healing is a decision, not a schedule. When you’re ready to face the truth without flinching, you move fast. The rest is avoidance dressed up as self-care

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, HeadStrong, isn’t just coaching it’s psychological warfare against everything that’s been trying to break people mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. What sets me apart is that I don’t do surface work. I go straight to the root. I combine spiritual psychology, neuroscience, and raw human truth in a way that disrupts people’s pain and activates their power.

I didn’t get here through comfort. I bled for this. I lost people. I lost parts of myself. I’ve been betrayed, underestimated, and even had to rebuild my team from scratch. But every time something tried to bury me, I came back sharper. The biggest lesson? You can’t save the world and lose yourself. Boundaries are holy. Rest is strategy. And healing isn’t a luxury it’s a revolution.

I want the world to know that HeadStrong is a movement. I built it for the ones who’ve been silenced, manipulated, and left behind. This is where they reclaim their minds, rebuild their lives, and rise. I’m not for everyone and that’s intentional. But for the ones who are ready, I change everything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to Atlanta, I’d make sure they experienced both the healing and the hustle this city offers. Here’s how I’d line it up:

Day 1: Grounding + Legacy
We’d start at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park—because ATL is rooted in revolution. We’d visit his birth home, the King Center, and Ebenezer Baptist. Then grab lunch at Busy Bee Café—Black-owned, soul-fed, unapologetic comfort food.

Day 2: Nature + Neighborhood Vibes
Morning grounding in Piedmont Park, followed by botanical bliss at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. We’d walk the BeltLine Eastside Trail, stop at Krog Street Market for bites, and let the art speak in Little Five Points. Dinner rooftop style at Hotel Clermont.

Day 3: Food Crawl + Culture Shock
We’d eat our way through Buford Highway tacos, pho, dumplings, all in one afternoon. Then hit The High Museum of Art to reconnect with emotion through creativity. Nightcap at Our Bar ATL because it’s community, culture, and curated chaos in the best way.

Day 4: History + Healing
Spend the day at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead. Reflect at the Swan House, then unwind at Canoe on the river for dinner. Talk life under the stars.

Day 5: Spiritual Reset
Start the morning with a meditation walk in Cascade Springs Nature Preserve hidden gem. Then visit The Shrine of the Black Madonna bookstore for spiritual insight and legacy. Dinner at Slutty Vegan to keep the energy high and plant-based.

Day 6: Wild Card Day
We’d either go to Zoo Atlanta, catch a live show at Fox Theatre, or do a spontaneous thrift + streetwear hunt in East Atlanta Village. Maybe all three. Energy is the guide.

Day 7: Reflect + Rejuvenate
Final brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club, then grab cold-pressed juice at Juiceheads ATL, chill in Virginia-Highland, talk future moves, and wrap it all up with gratitude on a rooftop with a view.

Atlanta isn’t just a city it’s a portal. A blend of soul, sound, and survival. And I’d make sure my friend left changed.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely. My shoutout goes to pain. Real talk. Every betrayal, breakdown, and moment I didn’t think I’d survive that’s who built me. But beyond that, I want to recognize the women who kept showing up broken and brave. They trusted me with their stories, and in helping them heal, I healed parts of myself. My ancestors, too the ones whose names I’ll never know but whose resilience is in my bones. And finally, to God… not the boxed-in version, but the limitless force that kept whispering, “Get back up.” That’s who gets the credit.
