We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my business after some years of modeling in Atlanta. I aimed to provide quality images for individuals who wanted to get into modeling and be a trustworthy photographer in the business.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently a Mechanical design engineer, but my passion is in Photography. I believe my engineering background shows in my work when it comes to certain lines and angles I want to achieve. Growing up, I use to be the photographer when it came to family reunions, and when I got to college, I documented my track and field days with a little film camera my mom gave me. In 2008 when the recession hit, I took it upon myself to pursue photography seriously. I soon found out that cameras and equipment were very expensive so I started saving up for my first DSLR camera. When I got my first camera it was a big learning curve but I talked to other photographers and I made sure to go out and shoot pictures until I developed my own style of photography. The lessons I have learned and continue to learn daily continue to shape my artistry. I would like to say that if you have a passion you would like to pursue, take that chance! yes, there will be ups and downs but it will be a story to look back and see how far you have come and the people you have inspired as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a slight foodie lol. my family heritage is Jamaican, so I enjoy food from all over the world. The food choices on Buford highway, spanning from the city of Atlanta all the way up to Duluth ga, are a sight to see and taste. The place I go for Jamaican food is Tropics Jerk Center in Lithonia, ga. When it comes to getting drinks in the city, we would have to stop by and See my good Friend Anton at CO. Other places to see while here would be the downtown Atlanta area, but also up north at Lake lanier when you want to escape the city and relax on the water.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to send a shoutout to my parents and close friends. They all gave me the opportunities to photograph their weddings, engagements, products, and special moments when I was starting. I also have to thank all the models who trusted in my vision and continue to do so to this day.
