We had the good fortune of connecting with RIPXL (stage name) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi RIPXL (stage name), how do you think about risk?
Risk equals reward to me. I took a risk my whole career . Dropped out of college , hustled , and traveled alone for most of my career . It’s all worth it . Did I make some mistakes along the way ? Of course, but I wouldn’t trade where I’m at right now for the world .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I had to self destruct before I got to where I’m at and heading . When I first started making music It was therapy to keep it real . I didn’t see it as a career , but with encouragement from the people around me I was able to gather up the confidence to pursue it fully. Hip-hop started in the late 70s and I honestly believe that you can’t find someone since then who sounds like me . That’s what sets me apart . I’m 100 percent RIPXL (pronounced are-eye-pee-excel). They’ll never be another

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My go to is happy donuts on the East . Great people / great food . What more do you want ? Honestly I don’t do clubs and etc . I’m either at work or on a plane

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A special shout out to everyone that supports what I do ( the fans ). Ash and yankho who also runs Datahaart with me. My videographer/friend Jake Byers.
