We had the good fortune of connecting with Rico Gotti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rico, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Southwest Atlanta… aka Zone 3 and grew up on Sylvan Road and Mechanicsville.

My background and upbringing impacted who I am today by seeing the men in my family hustle to get money. They taught me valuable life lessons and gave me meaningful advice as a teenager, and those values made me the man I am today. Also, my mom was and still is an important person in my upbringing, She showed me that if she can do it, then I can do it. Everything that I do or say is a reflection of those important people in my life and I am wiser and smarter with every move that I make.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I am me. I am true to myself.

I got to where I am today by staying focused and to never quit. I have a goal in life and that is what I am grinding towards to achieve. Life is not easy, and it comes with challenges, but I keep pushing forward.

One lesson that I have learned along the way is that I have to learn and know the music business. There is so many things that rap artists will over look because they don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. So, now I am more aware and have a hand in what is going on behind the scene with my music.

I also made my brand, which is called We Won’t Fold ENT, to help others like me who want to be in the music industry. I want to give those the information and resources that I did not have or know about while coming up in the rap game.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take someone to Mr. Everything by Greenbriar mall to get something to eat. Then we would go to the hood where all my folks at to hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I don’t want to leave anyone out, but I want to shoutout everybody that has supported me throughout my journey. Those that have followed me on IG, reposted my music on their page, and those that have helped with the production of my music and albums!
