We had the good fortune of connecting with Richardson Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Richardson, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business has always been an idea that I entertained but never knew what route to take early on. I always desired to break out from the 9-5 way of living and to take control of my time. The biggest motivating factor for me was to be available for my family and my church whenever needed.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Season Pass Rentals LLC is an equipment rental company that provides equipment for parties and events while also providing equipment such as light industrial tools and power equipment & more. We desire to be a one stop shop for those seeking equipment to rent for whatever event/project at hand! We pride ourselves in exceptional customer service and providing to our customers a confidence that we will come through. There is nothing more exciting then arriving on site and seeing the joy on the face of our customers knowing that what they ordered has arrived. The icing on the cake is hearing from them after the fact of how pleasant their experience was and how we provided a smooth and stress free process for them.

As I mentioned earlier, I always wanted to go into business but I was unsure of which avenue to take. At the end of 2018, I was in a time of praying and fasting and I woke up from my sleep in amazement! Like I told my wife, it’s like I had an epiphany! I heard the Lord say, “Rentals.” That was it! I didn’t know where to begin but I knew that was the route I needed to take. I shared the idea with my mother and she gave me $400.00 to get started. I brought 26 chairs and 3 tables by faith and the business literally took off! It wasn’t an easy process in the beginning but through patience and adding equipment little by little we grew!

My 2 takeaways that I’ve learned during our 5 year journey is that when God gives you a vision, dream, or idea, move on it by faith! Don’t over think, wonder how its going to work or second guess because if he gives you the blueprint he will give you the resources to build! Secondly, I have learned that business is all about pivoting and modifying. Disappointments, discouragement, and setbacks will come but don’t give up! Use them as fuel and a stepping stone to adjust your processes to become wiser and more effective!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give a shoutout to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Without His wisdom, guidance, and provision I know I would not be where I am today! Huge shoutout to my wife Roselande Jean who has always been there for me and our family. Her love and support are unmatched and keep me going! My 5 children Josiah, Caleb, Elisha (Eli), Jirah, and Selah are my most precious gifts and they keep me grounded and focused on the end goal. I thank God for my Father Ludsen Jean, my mother Daniella Jean, my grandmother Mercilia Jean, my sister Larissa D. Jean, and my brother Clifford Jean for their prayers, support and encouragement throughout the journey and being the anchor points to who I am today! And to all my dear friends and loved one who have supported me from day one up until this moment. Thank you to all!
