We had the good fortune of connecting with Richa Kansal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richa, what’s your definition for success?
Success is meeting the next goal in life. It is a journey and does not have an end! It’s difficult to define success, but when you believe you have attained what you had hoped for and have been longing for, that says it all.
In terms of my personal life, I feel fulfilled and successful when I witness the love in the world and my children developing in a way that is consistent with my vision and desires.
However, when it comes to success as a designer or artist, it gets personal. I have the perception that I am constantly seeking perfection and the satisfaction that comes from knowing I have given my all. It is the sensation of exceeding my own expectations and giving my all when you succeed and realize what you’ve been thriving for. I sincerely thank all my clients and my dear friends who have always shown their appreciation towards my work. Truly grateful to them!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Richa Kansal, and Kansals Photography is how most people know me. I own and operate a photography studio in Atlanta, Georgia. I specialize in Newborn, Maternity and Child photography, and love shooting a variety of sessions. Insight for detail, creativity and perfection is what defines my art and style. I wanted to establish a name-recognized brand. I’ve been driven by a strong passion to pursue my interests. I enjoy my field of photography. Photography is so much more than a service. It is an artwork lining the walls of your home that tells your family’s story. I’ve always been fascinated by colors because I think they give life to any frame. You will find my work filled with colors, I style my sessions where colors play an integral part!
Since I was a young child, my creative side has always been stronger. I have always had a passion for building and creating things, so I decided to enroll in the School of Architecture to graduate with a bachelor’s degree at the top of the class. Years of dedication have improved my capacity for creative thinking. I’ve learned how to turn ideas into reality and how to give my photographs depth and specificity. I thrive on creativity because it gives me a goal to work toward, a way to move forward and brings out the best in me.
I have clients coming from different ethnicities to the studio for the session. Customizing the specific needs and basis of clients coming from different ethnicities and communication on the same is what I have learnt and developed on through these years. I am blessed to have clientele from diverse ethnicities, it adds variety to my portfolio.
The journey had never been simple; publicizing my company’s identity and establishing confidence with my clientele have taken time and a good amount of hard work. I have gone through a rigorous amount of training and learning process on transforming the images from basic to a fine art work , technically as well as aesthetically.
My children have always been my top priority. Focusing on your career and taking care of family, both at the same time has never been easy. I have found a perfect balance in my Photography Studio which helps me in pursuing my dream and at the same time allows me to take care of my twins and the home.
Though it’s still difficult to balance having an ambitious mind with the responsibility of raising my twin high schoolers, the juggle still goes on.
I am really happy and grateful to be surrounded by a terrific group of individuals that believe in my work and speak positive things about my business to others. The expression that conveys my client’s satisfaction in both words and eyes makes me happy. It makes me feel valuable and whole. The trust my client’s place in me will never be taken for granted and I promise to always pour my heart and soul into my work.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The heart of the city is downtown. I would like to start from here. Centennial Olympic Park is surrounded by Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and Center for Civil and Human Rights all within walking distance of each other. Later in the evening , a relaxing evening at The roof at the ponce city market would be a great experience. It offers breathtaking views over Atlanta.
A few more things/activities which I would like to go with are hiking at Suwanee preserve and a day well spent boating and relaxing at Lake lanier.
The list is long but these are a few of my favorite spots.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Not all the achievements can be made alone. There are a lot of people involved in the path of your journey and success. My husband has been my biggest support. He has always encouraged me to think beyond and challenged my limits. Being a technical mind, he has always looked into the different aspects and given me a different insight towards my approach to certain things.
Being a parent of twins has taught me patience, which is necessary when dealing with young children, which I apply in my career. My twins are my biggest critiques and my friends & family are my sweet admirers.
My hearty thanks to my clients who have encouraged my work, appreciated and referred me to their friends and family.
Last but not the least, my parents gave me good values.
I am so grateful to have them all in my life, It would not have been possible to come this far without their support.
