We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhena Bundick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rhena, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I am what many would call A type personality. I expect a lot of myself. I try my best to stay very disciple and keep a level of structure in my life. At times I can be really impatient and hard on myself because I’m expecting so much from myself and I don’t like to waste time.. I do have high standards and I don’t expect anything less from myself. I feel like this has helped me structure my life in a way that I can prioritize and get things done! For example breaking down and learning a script as soon as I get it because I know the amount of time it will take. I try not to put those things on hold. I’m also Making sure I’m taking care of my body, and my spirit man as well so that I stay strong and healthy so I can complete my assignment on this earth.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Actress and Dancer originally from Philadelphia Pennsylvania. I started acting in high school in my first play about a young gypsy trying to navigate her way through the world. This was the moment I fell in love with acting. Having moved around so much myself growing up., I immediately connected with this character. I loved everything about her and who she was because I felt we were on the same journey of looking for stability and love. That same year, I danced in my first musical, Fidler on the roof and that’s where I discovered my love for the arts. . I believe this is when I discovered what my true purpose, passion, and destiny was. I just knew this is what the lord was calling me to do. This journey has not been easy to say the least. I have had many challenges and even considered quitting many times but because of my faith , consistent prayer, and the tribe that God has put around me, I can’t give up in-spite of the many challenges. I’ve learned that if God has purpose for your life,, He will make sure your purpose is fulfilled. It’s already in his plan, I’m just walking backwards into it. If he said it he will do it! All I need is mustard seed faith and he’s going to make sure he fulfills everything he’s promised. The lord has proven this to me over and over. again! One of the lessons that I’ve learned is, you have to love what you do and there needs to be a purpose in why your doing what you do. Who are you reaching? What lives are you changing? What legacy do you want to leave in the earth? If you can answer these questions then you will find purpose in what your doing. I want people to know that, life is truly a journey. it’s not about you! This life Isn’t just about us. It’s about loving one another, impacting souls, and touching lives through the gifts and talents he’s given to us.
What I’m most proud and excited about is my recent SAG lead role as Tanya Chambers in the film “ For The Love Of Tanya” I had about a week to learn the script. I learned it in two days and flew out 6 days later. I’ve always wanted to go to LA. and it was my first time there. I got to meet and work with some pretty amazing talented creatives, as well as writers and producers. The experience was absolutely amazing and career changing for me. I’m so eternally grateful to God for opening that door for me. He deserves all the praise!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorites spots to go is Savannah Ga. I know it doesn’t sound like much but I Absolutely love this place. My mom and I try our best to make it there every summer to celebrate our birthdays since there both in August. There’s a place called river street and that’s where most people hang out. The night life is amazing and so is the food. I love this small kind of hole in the wall bar and grill that plays lives music and has the best “Hangover burgers”you’ve ever tasted. After that, I always head over to the candy shop where they make the most amazing pralines.. it wouldn’t be a trip without a little shopping so I always hit up the clothing stores to see what unique pieces I can find. of course I can’t end the night without stopping by wet Willies for a strawberry and chocolate smoothie (Yes it has alcohol) I usually get just a small. which I take over by the river and enjoy while acting silly, listening to great music and making TikTok’s
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
