We had the good fortune of connecting with Resa Leigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Resa, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is that I am only limited by my mind. For many years, my primary focus was on earning a higher salary, getting a better job, etc etc. but now, as an entrepreneur, I think of success in terms of achieving a higher level of self; when we become better versions of ourselves, wealth and success are inevitable. All we have to do is get out of our own way.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a short term rental entrepreneur, coach and mentor. I love educating new and aspiring Airbnb hosts about starting and scaling a short term rentals business. I share the good, the bad and the ugly sides of Airbnb and short term rentals. I love giving all the details people are really searching for; I want to overdeliver on everything I offer. I want to hold your hand until you get on. I started this business less than a year ago; it hasn’t been easy. I’m a busy mom of 3, and we’ve gone thru homeschooling, working from home, and a job layoff. But I had to push through all that. The business has quickly taken on a life of its own. I’m managing multiple assets and getting paid all the time! It has changed my life and I just want to share that feeling with someone who thinks they can’t do it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestie was visiting Atlanta and i wanted to show them the best time ever, there’s a few must-visit places I would include. I love to eat great food, so we would visit a lot of hot Atlanta spots, like Slutty Vegan, The Beautiful, Mary Mac’s, Toast on Lenox, and Sushi Kiku. We’d visit the Beltline and Piedmont Park to get outside and people watch, and ride the ferris wheel downtown. I’d take her to hear music at BQE Lounge. We’d visit the Zoo, the Aquarium, and the selfie museum!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to the love of my life, my husband. He’s been on the listening end of all my crazy wildest business ideas, and he’s always there to give rational, practical, and WISE advice that grounds me and helps me execute. I was born a Dreamer; he helps me be a Doer.
I can’t wait to see all our dreams come true, babe. I love you.
