Meet ReRe White | Bartender & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with ReRe White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ReRe, what do you attribute your success to?
I found myself at 29 years old trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life as an entrepreneur. I wanted to have a major accomplishment under my belt that was personal and intentional for me. I worked in the club for years as a bartender/ server and over time that occupation became tiresome and I felt I wasn’t making the money I knew I could make as a bartender. I knew my personality was too big for the environment I was in at the time.

I took a long break from the club and started my journey to become my own boss. I knew this had to be something I was passionate about and loved. I love people. I love meeting new people and I make connections easily. Honestly, people love me too. So I took my bartending experience, and personality and decided I would provide my own bar service (and the bars) and book my own parties and events. I wanted my business to be unique and original. I also saw that during that time, there was no other business model like mines. In May 2017 I took a leap of faith and started Pretty Tenda’s. I set a goal to launch my business by my birthday, which is in October. So for several months, I did all of my research, got all of my licenses and credentials and had a successful business launch on October 6. It was a very exciting, humbling experience.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been working in Marine Insurance as a Liability Claims Adjuster for almost 9 years. I was in my career field even when I worked the club as a side job. My professional career and knowledge I’ve gained contributed largely to how I wanted to run/structure my business. It was not an easy journey, but I overcame those challenges by remaining positive and consistent in my actions. Consistency is important to me and I want my clients to always feel confident in their decision to choose me.

I am proud to be a customer focused/driven entrepreneur and professional. My professionalism and knowledge in my industry sets my business and myself apart from others. Not only do I educate my clients, I make their experience a smooth and fun process. I make sure to provide my clients with an amazing experience from the beginning to end of the process.

I used my professional career as a stepping stool to provide exceptional customer service. I want the world to know that just because you have other obligations (career, job, etc.) you can still pursue your dreams. You work hard, stay consistent, value integrity and your business can and will grow into everything you want it to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have so many different ways to have fun here. I mostly enjoy live shows we have such as Smkn Word on Mondays at Onxy Sportsbar- this show is an interactive and fun experience with so much talent that you don’t get to see. My childhood friend created this experience and it has blown up in such an amazing way. Outside of that the St. Augustine, Riverside, 5 Points area, and the beaches are some of of places I love to go to. This list is not all inclusive though.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would NOT be anything I am today, nor would my business if not for ALL of my family and friends who have always been a huge support and pushed me to do what they know I am great at. I love all of you so much.

My social media family and friends (Facebook/ IG) have played an extremely big role in the success of my business. The referrals, word of mouth, shares, posts, and recommendations have been a tremendous blessing.

The BIGGEST shoutout goes to my godsister, and lead bartender Ceteria (Tee). She has literally been there for me and Pretty Tenda’s since day one and is the one person I can depend on to deliver and provide service the same as me. She has been supportive and hands on with this journey and its a must the world knows I love, value and appreciate her and her dedication to Pretty Tenda’s.
