Meet Renisha Jackson and Lakiesha Daniels: Owners

We had the good fortune of connecting with Renisha Jackson and Lakiesha Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Renisha and Lakiesha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well Renisha actually came up with the ideal for Loving Me Period. She wanted to come up with something new and something that was needed, When she told be about the idea for a period products subscription box company, I immediate loved that idea and we join forces. It was perfect timing due to covid and people not going out due to sheltering in place. So we came up with a business plan and timeline for getting started and is constantly building and learning more about the business and how to improve and be successful.
What should our readers know about your business?
Loving Me Period is a feminine hygiene subscription box company that provide women with their period products and extra treats on a monthly basis. It provides the flexibility and convenience of being able to receive your monthly period products right at your door. The thing that sets us apart is that each box comes with tampons and or pads that you can select, pain reliever, teas, and sweet and salty treats. We also have a deluxe subscription box that comes with everything provided in the basic subscription box plus 3-5 monthly themed surprised items our activities. We are excited that we are able to provide a positive experience during a time where women dread. We all love getting surprises and being able to try new products and activities. We want our customers to feel that extra joy, self love and self care during that time. Being that we know about the late nights or spontaneous runs to the store for our period products and just not feeling our best around that time we wanted to make it a little easier for other women. We all know life can get busy, and just knowing that every month your period products will be mailed to you is one less thing you have to worry about. It wasn’t easy, and it still not quite easy. But just having a plan to stick to and making the necessary adjustments and not giving up helped us. Having patience and consistently learning is key.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love brunch and Atlanta’s Breakfast Club would definitely be on the list followed by Mary Mac Tea Room. If its spring or summer, we would take them Atlantic Station or Ponce City Market which I love. There is so much to do there as far as shopping, food and games on the rooftop.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our friends definitely supported us as reached out to them and got their feedback on our new business and provided necessary suggestions on ideas that would help the business. Also we joined a few groups on social media and put up surveys and questionnaires to get feedback on what they would like to see in a period subscription box and what products they mostly used. Lastly we give thanks to our customers because they believed in our idea enough to subscribe and be apart of Loving Me Period.
