We had the good fortune of connecting with Rene’ Parks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rene’, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business really stemmed from me not liking to be bossed around by others. But over time I realized that it wasn’t necessarily the fact that I didn’t like to take directive from others, it was more so the freedom that comes with being your own boss. However, it did not stop there! My ambition, my desire to want to start my own business became a real obsession when I realized my purpose!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Belle Vous Beauty is a very unique makeup line with products that are user friendly. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experience MUA or a beginner or just someone looking for a nice lipstick for date night. We have created a makeup line that caters to all.

Its name is French for Beautiful You. The inspiration came from wanting to express to women all around the world that they are beautiful. The makeup is just used to enhance the beauty that lies within allowing us to channel our inner alter ego.

As the CEO, I am constantly faced with hurdles. The first issue I quickly came in contact with was shipping. Shipping was a complete nightmare to say the very least but now we know to make sure each item is scanned when it arrives at our local carrier.

We are still growing as a brand so we have not yet mastered the challenges and are constantly learning. If I had to give another aspiring entrepreneur tips it would be to never give up. It’s easy to throw in the towel, to call it quits but it’s hard to live a life of poverty. It’s hard trying to figure out how you’re going to make ends meet, how you’re going to pay next months rent. What I’ve realized is it’s hard either way. So accept the fact that its hard and give it everything you have to continue out your journey to the top!

I would like the world to know that for every single mother out there, Belle Vous is in the process of implementing a strategic brand ambassador program that will allow mothers the ability to work from the comforts of their own home and spend time with their loved ones. The Brand ambassador program will allow individuals to sign up and create an account to track commission which will be paid out monthly. We are still in the beginning stages but we are confident that this program will pave the way for many who are seeking freedom from the traditional 9-5 job.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we are in ATL id likely take my best friend to ponce city market and walk the belt line. They have everything, food, music, drinks, roof top entertainment. Ponce City Market is like a one stop shop lol whatever we need we can find right there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I realized that the DNA of my success was hiding within my routine. Eric Thomas was the first to ever bring that to light for me. Throughout my journey in success I’ve had to search for mentors such as Les Brown, ET and Mel Robbins to help guide me in the right direction. I’ve always known that I wanted to be successful but I never really knew how to go about it, like the first step to touching success. I came across this book called “Think and Grow Rich” it inspired me to have a burning desire for success to want it so bad that I could feel the success already happening. Les Brown taught me that anyone can be successful it doesn’t matter what you come from or what odds are against you. Mel Robbins, without much convincing proved to me that you have only 5 seconds to make a choice and either you want it or you don’t. I wanted success, I didn’t have to think twice about it and I was going to experience success by any means necessary. I needed success not for me but for my entire family! I was determined to break the generational curse of living with a poverty mindset. I refused to allow my children to grow up being just another statistic. I wanted to pave the way for other single mothers who are at that breaking point. I wanted to show them by example there’s always hope! I found my purpose and I made a promise to myself and to God I will live my life with purpose.
