We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Sewell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regina, what inspires you?
I am inspired by nature. The Sun, the heat, rain, earth, air, and water. Elements of our world that show up in different forms. They continue to reflect the many ways we can create, construct, and re-create our lives. The elements teach me how to be flexible, steadfast, and grounded all at once. It also reminds me of my “hueman” nature and the connections I have to this world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a mental health counselor and spiritual development life coach. I facilitate healing sessions for growth, for joy, for happiness and creative freedom. I use the intuitive guidance of tarot and energetic healing practices to create a road-map of inspired actions. The readings/sessions are grounded in my training and life experience with the intuitive tools as portals for healing and doorways to new possibilities. It is a practice of reconnecting people back to their truth, their core sense of being, their ancestral lineage of power and strength, and innate wisdom. I believe the abundance of miracles and magic we desire in our lives exists in us. It exists in us in the everyday magic of everyday living.

My desire when working with individuals is that they see that they are the Oracle. I emphasize the importance of seeing ourselves as the Magician of our successes, our so-called failures, and re-generation as part of our spiritual existence on Earth. I’m also focused on creating inspired actions with a specific focus on enhancing, healing, and uplifting black people. I am in joy when individuals experience “a-ha” moments of inspiration in sessions or after sessions that set their lives on a trajectory beyond what they believe about themselves. That is truly the nature of my work and what makes me most proud.

Through a series of tragic events in my life, I went through spiritual transitions that led me to this place of personal development and counseling professionally. In those moments of confusion and feeling like I didn’t have an anchor was where I discovered myself.

Once I became aware that I was on the path of healing and wellness, my whole perception of my life changed. It’s been me learning to trust my inner compass of wisdom and guidance. This inner guidance directed me back to the Source, to all that existed in me, as me, and through me. This experience allows me to create healing through artistic and ecstatic living practices. It allows me to be myself.

My advice to those starting and continuing on their journey to Self: stay open to the possibilities of who you are becoming. Allow yourself to be confused, lost, and found again. Know that you can never mess this up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m still fairly new to Atlanta, but the places I have enjoyed the most are creative, artsy, niche places. My itinerary would include: Visiting Little Five Points area. Going to Sevenanda Co-Op store. Eating brunch at Le Petite Marche in Kirkwood. Eating vegan cinnamon rolls at Cinnaholic in Edgewood. Buying spiritual and ritual tools at Yeye’s Botanica. Visiting Phoenix and Dragons metaphysical store. Going to local parks in and around the greater Atlanta area and enjoying nature!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My work is consistently dedicated and in devotion to my parents Anna and Leonis Sewell, my matriarch and patriarch of eternal giving, healing, compassion, and love.

I’d also like to shout out the Healing for the Healers collective (https://healing-for-the-healers.squarespace.com/) who have been a beacon of light and support for me the past year. They/We are a group of black healing practitioners who hold up our community with so much light and energy in the face of immense adversity. We do so out of joy, love, heart, and desire for all of us to live free.
