We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I graduated from college, applying for jobs was so frustrating. With me being new to the corporate world for design, I never seemed to have the amount of experience time they were looking for & I would apply to so many graphic design positions, just to get turned down. I just kept thinking how can I gain work experience if I can’t even land a job with a company. So I decided to learn more about freelancing & branch out on my own to start my own business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a graphic designer, I have the opportunity to work with different businesses. I get the chance to bring their brand design visions to life from their logos and branding material to their websites. As we all know, nothing in life comes easy. Learning new skills can always bring on a challenge. I did go to college for graphic design, but even after graduating with my degree in design, I still had to learn the ropes when it comes to working with different brands/businesses. The learning never stops. Which is one of the lessons I learned. I knew I didn’t know everything, but I thought I knew enough. WRONG. I had to realize that was just the beginning of the journey & in this field there’s always room for improvement.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest.. I’m in a smaller town. I travel away to experience new things lol. I don’t have any favorite spots to show off if I did host a friend that was visiting me here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family & close friends (of course)! They play a big role in where I am today. The support & encouragement that they always show me has kept me afloat when it comes to my talents & business.
