We had the good fortune of connecting with Regan Wolfrey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regan, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my career as a makeup has taught me is to have patience. Even though you can see the finish or taste the victory, it still takes time to make it a reality. The key is to stay consistent and never give up until you get there. Even then keep going and push yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my dedication to my craft. It brings me so much joy to use my talents and experiences to enhance the lives of many clients. I am grateful for the opportunity to impact so many people from all over with makeup.

I would have to say that continuing to educate myself and invest in makeup and business classes helped me to get to where I am today. Education is so important, especially when you need guidance. Also practicing my craft each day has helped me to advance in my career.

There were definitely challenges along the way but I kept thinking about how I can’t go back. I knew I had to make this work because nothing else made me feel happy. I want people who have dreams and goals to know that your journey will take time and that’s ok. If this is really something you love and enjoy continue to remember that along the way. Don’t give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Richmond is fortunate to have various restaurants and entertainment for different interest. My best friends night would include drinks, bowling, music and spicy foods.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my husband. Throughout this journey as a makeup artist came lots of moments where I doubted myself and he would always push me and remind me of my growth and accomplishments. For every time I quit my jobs and wanted to pressure my career he would be right there to hold down the house while I focused on my business. For his love and support I am forever grateful.
