Meet Reeyon Rouse

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reeyon Rouse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reeyon, how do you think about risk?
I believe taking risk every now and then is a healthy part of life. All the photoshoots I’ve done and the connections I’ve made have been because I took a risk to reach out to a complete stranger in the hopes of creating art. I love trying new ideas and concepts and even that is taking a risk. Because you never know how things are going to turn out, which for me is apart of the fun. I love seeing how I can improve it. Trying it over and over until you have perfected the process.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The thing I’m proud of most is how far I’ve come. I started my Instagram as a way to share my talent with the world. Through it I was able to connect with other talented people and even turn my art into a business. It hasn’t been easy, the stresses of life have definitely led me to walk away a few time. But I always find my way back. Because art is in my blood. Creating is the only thing I have ever known. I have always done some kind of art. I started out drawing cartoon and anime characters but then it slowly changed to portraits. Then the interest of portraits turned into a love for portrait photography. But growing up I’ve also played a instrument, preformed in theater on and off stage, and I have a degree in animation from SCAD. My brand has always been a Jack of all trades. Even in my photography I don’t like to pick only one genre. I do cosplay, Boudoir, lifestyle, sports, product, portrait, and fantasy photography. People aren’t just one thing, so why should my art be?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start our day at Roswell Mills one my favorite places to take pictures. Then lunch at the SweetHut in Duluth and walk around the local shops. After that we’d head down to Atlantic station catch a movie, and end our night at me and my friends favorite bar Moondogs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout a model that I have recently started working with but one who has quickly become a good friend, Cuppykitsune. She is a model who recently left her job to do content creation full time. She is a inspiration and the pleasure to work with.
