We had the good fortune of connecting with Reesa Hendrix Pledge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reesa, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by so many things. First and foremost, my parents have always been my source of inspiration. They are three steps beyond hardworking as they are diligent servants to their community and the lifeline to the family. My oldest sister inspires me. She has so much more discipline and focus than I do. She is resilient and beautiful and I work to emulate her.
My husband and children inspire me. They are supportive rocks to my foundation. They inspire me to want better daily. The love they show me fuel me to want to give more and that is inspiring.
My players inspire me. These ladies young to old impact me and drive me to work, build and create.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
GO Basketball is set apart as it is an environment dedicated to give girls an opportunity to learn and compete in Basketball. There are surely opportunities to play the game elsewhere. However, young ladies drop out of sports at a much higher rate than gentlemen by the ages of 12-14.
Our program creates a space where they can learn the game, have hands on ball during the game, and develop a love for the game that may not occur otherwise.
GO offers a wide range of opportunities for girls basketball including, a middle school All Star game to recognize and encourage the next group of High School Stars, Competitive Travel Ball Division, Leagues, Tournaments as well as and camps and clinics.
These opportunities are dedicated to giving girls the opportunities to continue to the sport we love.
We drive the program on the foundation of values in excellence and teaching the consistency of making good life choices and striving to be better than yesterday in all things.
There is failure and distractions in working on excellence. That road is tough, but it is the right road.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The places to chill for me are typically near water. Love the St Pete Pier. or if in the city Armature Works and the River Walk is the spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
GO Basketball is nothing without the community of parents, student volunteers and loyal supporters that have dedicated their time these young ladies. Junior Gonzalez is the lifeline and the heart of GO Basketball. He captures the beauty of all that encompasses the program and shares it all as God has called him to do.
We love Junior and know Go basketball is great because what Junior gives is he is THE GREATEST!
