We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Pearl and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
God. Whenever I do a bio, I always say “Child of God”. It’s not a gimmicky Christian thing, it’s an establishment of identity. God has been and will always be my foundation, my provision, my comforter, and my inspiration.

My perspective and mindset have been shaped by God. My ability to go from the norm/status quo coming from a Haitian family, and pursue my music, my dreams, and my vision for life boldly and authentically, with PEACE of mind: has been because of God.

My upcoming album, “Heaven on Earth,” is inspired by the idea of creating a world that truly feels like heaven on earth – musically illustrating its peace, joy, and opulence.

One of my mentors told me when I first met her, “Some people think being holy is being perfect, but that’s not it. To be Holy is to be your true self – your best self.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a singer, songwriter, poet, and producer, I invite you to join me on a journey to heaven on earth through my music. My R&B-infused sound, with its lush ethereal atmospheres and sweet melodies, is a must-listen for fans of soulful singing, the soft life, and high fashion. Born in Westwood, New Jersey, and raised in Florida, my Haitian heritage adds depth and uniqueness to my blend of Soul, R&B, and Pop.

But my music is just one aspect of my multifaceted career. My faith and commitment to God, strong work ethic and dedication to excellence have helped me thrive as a performer and entrepreneur. I am also known for my love of the finer things in life and my sense of style, making me a standout on stage or at red carpet-events.

I am excited to announce the release of my new single “Don’t Mind,” which will be available on January 27th, 2023.

This song is about being in love with the person of your dreams and embracing the commitment and pleasure that comes with true love. It celebrates the deep connection and sexual attraction shared between soulmates who meet and exceed each other’s standards and desires. With ethereal, soulmate-like vibes, “Don’t Mind” encourages listeners to embrace the seriousness and commitment of true love, as God intended.

I’ve been working towards releasing music for a few years now, and I am grateful for the time it took to develop and grow as a woman and an artist. The journey to this point has not been easy, but I have learned so much along the way. It took me a while to believe in myself and my abilities, but I am now confident in my talent and I’m grateful and excited for all the opportunities that are coming my way.

I am also deeply grateful for the support and guidance of those who believed in me in my journey. Now, as I am living my dreams, I feel overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude.

I’ve learned a lot along the way, including the importance of believing in myself and trusting the process. It’s not always easy, but if it’s meant for you, it will come to pass. To those pursuing a career in music, especially young women, remember that if it is meant for you, it is yours – don’t rush it, be patient and loving towards yourself, and take the time to learn and grow.

For those who are interested in following my journey and staying up to date on my latest releases and looks, be sure to follow me on social media @IAmRebeccaPearl.

I look forward to continuing to share my music and inspiring others to live their best lives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, God. As my everything.

I’d love to shout out the SYFM Artist Collective that I’ve been able to be a part of this past year. Being around such amazing and talented artists has been truly life-giving.

To my mentor April Curcio | Owner of “Dancing for Joy” Dance Studio: an incredible support in my career as an artist and a woman.

To my aunt Emmanuela Rodeburg | Dating and Relationship Coach and author of “How To Attract A Godly Husband”: for being so graceful to me through all my craziness and self-discovery, for loving me as your own, and for all the other things.

To my brothers and sister, Joshua, Sarah, Jeffery, and Noah. For supporting me and speaking wisdom over me. For being my checks and balances and giving me reasons to want greater.

And last but not least, to my mother, Natasha, for all your sacrifice, grace, and pouring into me, even when I made it hard. I love you.
