Meet Rebeca Amich | Holistic Health Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebeca Amich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebeca, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business really started when I realize I might have potential to help people in a more tangible way. During the pandemic, I realized that medicine is just slapping another pill to a symptom. Being dependent on pills is not healthy. Using food and nature to optimize your immune system is healthy. I wanted to help people realize that their biggest defense against COVID was how they took care of themselves and that it doesn’t have to be stressful. Therefore, I took a certification to be a health coach and launch my own business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nurse Bec, LLC is my health coaching business where I combine my ICU nursing experience with habit and lifestyle changes to help people lose weight, gain energy, boost immune system, and feel lighter, happier, and stronger about their life. My system is very personalized and meets people where they are at. From their we take weekly baby steps towards their goal. This is not dieting but a gradual lifelong transformation. I am most proud of shifting from a corporate mindset to entrepreneur mindset and I am super excited to be able to help people live their best healthy life, the way it created to be. The road here has not been easy. I was really excited to get started and then I got COVID.
Thankfully, I wasn’t hospitalized but I was out for about 3 weeks and my energy levels severely suffered for months. Seemed that nothing helped and as a result my motivation to keep going with starting a business faded. This was really hard because I lost purpose and vision. I felt hopeless and felt like life didn’t matter. I realize I was shifting into a dark hole and I needed to change something quick before I start to get suicidal. I prayed a lot and surrounded myself with entrepreneurs of my same faith. I also changed up what I ate, how much water I drank, stopped watching tv shows and movies, and increased my sleep quality and I finally started to gain my energy again. It helped me find time and energy to rediscover my purpose which is to help people with their health. At this time, I had 4 months to finish my certification in which the normal trajectory was 6 months. I hustled and completed the course just in time to get my certification and started to take off. I realized that once I took care of my body and health first, everything else will start to fall into place and that if I set my mind to it, with God’s help, I can accomplish anything.
What I want the world to know is that it is very possible to get healthy without a quick fix diet, pills, and/or surgery! Our bodies are so uniquely created and so capable to do so much when fueled appropriately. I am so excited to help people realize their truest potential and help them create the way towards that together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to go hiking in the surrounding mountains like Red Top, Yona, and Stone Mountain or Trails like Gold Branch Trail. Some hot spots to take my friends would be the aquarium and Centennial Park. The best places to eat is Tassa’s Roti Shop in Marietta area or any of the hole in the wall places on Buford hwy. My favorite brunch place is The Flyings Biscuit. During the holidays is my favorite because I can take them to Atlanta Botanical Gardens Christmas lights.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to first recognize Jesus(God) who has opened the doors for me to get here and he continues to guide me in all that I do. Secondly, Justin Blyden, who first showed me that it is possible to make a difference as a health coach. Thirdly, David Spidotowski who continually helps with new tips, mindset shifts, and support where I need it. Lastly, Shana Browne who helped me pick Health Coach Institute to get my first certification.
