We had the good fortune of connecting with Rayna Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rayna, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Antigua the West Indies but raised in the Bronx, New York since I was 6 months old. I come from a hard working family that never makes excuses. They work their way from the bottom to now become great business minded, creating generational wealth for their children and grandchildren. Seeing this allows me to be a go getter. I keep the faith and put the work into executing the thoughts that are in my head. God is definitely at the front of everything I decide to do!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a salon owner and my business name is KAS Hair Salon LLC located in Kennesaw, Georgia. KAS are the initials of my three older children’s middle name. My personality, style capability and attitude definitely sets me apart from other hair stylist! I’m always bubbly and can do almost anything when it comes to hair. I love what I do! I’m living in my purpose being a seed planter plus therapist. When your a hair stylist you have to be a great listener plus give unbiased advice. I’m a living testimony for my clients and always tell them how God is a miracle worker! I’m known for my videos on Instagram, after styling my clients I ask them #youlikeyahairrrrrrrr and it became a catchy saying. Its a scary thing to start a business but I stepped out on faith. Me and my husband seen the salon suites in kennesaw and said this is the perfect location. After being in a small room for 3 months a larger suite presented itself. I was scared because it cost more money but I had a dream and seen the exact set up of my suite in my dreams. Someone else’s client came in and blessed the room with me and my husband and told me I would get the right clients not the right now clients and it’s been rolling ever since. Being in this business, I’ve learned it’s always good to be kind to others and not selfish. I get a lot of clients from the other salon suite owners in the building because we don’t all do the same thing. The saying of love your neighbor like you love yourself is so true because you will definitely be blessed! I want people to know that if you have a dream with faith and works, you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Set yourself apart from others, never compare, be kind, be a blessing to others and you will be blessed!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite restaurants is Capers in kennesaw and the BQE in Atlanta. I don’t drink anymore and clubs isn’t my thing. I like the Lenox and Cumberland Malls for shopping. I’m a big kid so six flags, indoor skydiving, the Ferris wheel, aquarium, football stadium and word of faith church are my go to places. A good comedy show, play or concert at the fox theater is great plus roller skating at cascade or stars and strikes is super fun. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I would like to thank God and my parents for always guiding and supporting me. I want to shoutout my husband Quinton Butler CO-CEO of Christian Royalty Clothing & kingdom Wealth Music, for always staying on my back to get things done and making me always finish what I start. He is my hype man and tells me all the time how different and genuine I am. My four children are my strength and I would love to also shoutout my oldest son Jordan Thompson @artistic_alchemist who is a wonderful graffiti artist.
