We had the good fortune of connecting with Raxx Gottiar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raxx, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I would say the most important factor behind my success is being consistent with my craft. Most people look for instant gratification but my goals are long term and I see opportunities as endless. The success of my brand is because I want to be authentically me and encourage others to do the same. Being yourself is a brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel my art is a bridge from the good feel music of the 90s to the current various styles of rap. When I listen to Rap and R&B music of the 90s, I think of a time when artists and communities interacted better and came out and had a good time. I would love to see that again, especially in Atlanta where there is a large number of talented artists, known and unknown. We need to lift each other up and be an unstoppable coalition. I am a big fan of Lil Wayne’s word play. My music has a lot of word play and double entendre. I don’t think about what sets me apart from others because I try not to compare what I do or where I am to anyone else. However, if I had to list one thing, I would say that my music is not influenced by what is trending around me. I am very proud of my growth as far as learning to perfect my sound and having opportunities to be in the certain rooms and even to be able to be interviewed on this platform. I am nowhere in this industry compared to others but it encourages me to keep going. It was not easy to get where I am professionally. It is costly financially and mentally, especially when you don’t have a big name or backing behind you. I have learned that the importance of marketing and promoting yourself as a brand. I have learned that support does not always come from the people that you know. I am still learning how beautiful and ugly this business can be. I had to overcome the challenges by learning to figure things out and celebrating my wins no matter how small. I want the world to know that I love music and I want to make music that makes people interact with each other more positively. I want people to see the various layers of me through my music. I am really just a humble dude trying to live out my dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a laid back person and enjoy places where I can actual conversate and interact. Ponce City Market Roof Top is a fun time. Bowlero Atlantic Station for some bowling. In fact Atlantic Station is a good hang out and place to meet up. Breakfast at Barneys has great food and good atmosphere. Cru Lounge Midtown and Cru Lounge South for good music and a vibe. Friday nights we got to hit Xscape Lounge on Buford Highway. There is many fun places in Atlanta. Top Golf, Dave and Buster just to name a few. But there is no place like a great bbq with my family and binge watching whatever comes to mind that day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I have to thank God because I am blessed to even have this opportunity. I have to recognize my parents who are my biggest supporters. They help motivate me to go above and beyond to make things come together on this journey. Of course I gotta shout out my mentor and friend CEO$ for being so transparent about what this path really entails, connecting me with people and platforms to be seen.
And my brothers Dedoc and Eman that always riding with me, and want to see me win.
