Meet Raushanah El Amin Foster | Raushanah El-Amin-Foster and Suhaylah Foster with Susu’s Lemonade Crush

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raushanah El Amin Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raushanah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Susu’s Lemonade Crush was started by my daughter Suhaylah in 2020. The idea that sparked the start of the business is, she wanted to start a business that will bring joy and make people smile. The business has evolved over the years. Since my daughter likes to draw she wanted to create a coloring book that illustrates her lifestyle and promote her lemonade. Her coloring book shows her “Lifestyle” which includes; her different hairstyles, family, and her favorite things to do. Currently, she is has been involved in speaking engagements with schools and organizations. She is an entrepreneur and speaker.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Susu’s lemonade is made in a commercial kitchen located in Decatur. It can be purchased at Pop Up shops and locally at East Atlanta Halal Butcher Shop located at 536 Fayetteville, GA 30316. We are working to expand and scale the business. As an entrepreneur, we have learned, behind several No’s will be a Yes, that will open the door to more opportunities. This year is the year of growth, and abundance. We are excited to invite you along on our journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I would take her to my favorite places in Atlanta. First we would start off at the Spa. Pampering and self care, is something I enjoy with my mom. I would also take her out to eat, Seafood!! I enjoy crab legs and lobster, so we would have to experience fine dining. During her time, here, we would definitely go shopping and last but not least, go skating!!
Since I am only 10, these would be my favorite activities to experience with my best friend!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to recognize, Carline Smothers for her support and mentorship. She has been an inspiration and great resource for Susu’s Coloring Book. Suhaylah likes to color and draw, therefore the coloring book is an extension of her personality and also is a opportunity for customers to see her lifestyle as an entrepreneur.
