Meet Rashid | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rashid, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I thought I wanted to develop a catalyst that might spark a culture of global sustainability in every area from academia to pop artistry and perhaps beyond.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well my mother Johnetta Malone is an artist and she’s goes by the name Vision and in my younger years (4-10) Id follow around to different studios and events, there came a time when she was about to sign a record deal with Sony Records; however her husband wanted to be her manager or no deal and Sony was not ok with that so she ended up setting music aside to raise her children. It was just myself and my little sister at the time. Fast forward a little down the road and thanks to the relentless inspiration of ultra talents such as my own mother, T-Pain, Jack Black, etc I too picked up the artistic mantle and began my career at 11 by auditioning for a number of different films and plays (ain’t booked a one ! Lol) and started recording my own music at 14 on an outdated laptop gifted to me by my youth pastor for Christmas. I practiced making my own songs for years on end as I struggled personally with drugs. All the while I have maintained and continually refine my vision of the future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the Atlanta art scene , the abundance of street art gives way for all sorts of creatively empowering improvisational style photo shoot opportunity photo shoots are one of my favorite things in the world! I’m not so particular of where to eat but as long as it’s good we’ll find our way there, my spirit is more keen to figure these kinds of things out. We would ofcourse see some artists friends of mine and just improv a spectacular time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
