We had the good fortune of connecting with Ramoris Parham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ramoris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I was in college, I had an affinity for throwing parties. I figured I might as well make money since I enjoy partying. So that is kind of where RaDaP Multimedia was born. I taught myself to DJ using DJ software and by watching the DJs that were in Statesboro so that I could DJ my own parties. I downloaded Adobe Photoshop and taught myself to make flyers for the parties I was throwing. Sixteen years later, the business is thriving!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I LOVE being a teacher. It adds to my business in several ways. Getting a chance to teach and learn from my students at my day job gives me an avenue, inspiration and fuels my passion for DJing and creating graphics.

Getting here professionally took a lot of time and patience. There were long nights and times where I truly wanted to give up. There are so many people who may be better or more talented that it made me a bit insecure in myself. However when you have a support system that believes in you, it pushed you to pursue and overcome. As one of my coaches always taught us “Running From It will not save you!”

That’s one of the major lessons I have ever learned. To push through even when things do not go your way or when it looks lost.

What I would want the world to know about me and my brands are that we are the product of dreaming becoming reality. I truly love what I do. Whether it be teaching, DJing, or graphic design.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well MY Atlanta is different because we would not be going to a lot of tourist parts.

Itinerary:

First we would start at my FAVORITE breakfast place located on MLK on the Westside at A1 Soul Food. Best fish and grits ever! Around lunchtime we would hangout in my old neighborhood over on the Eastside. We would HAVE to eat at Fletchers for lunch! Their wings are the absolute greatest! Upon leaving there, we could visit some of the bars over on Edgewood where I like to hang out. Then around dinner time, we would go to my absolute favorite restaurant, Green Ginger, over in Decatur and then hang out over on Peter Street!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my parents for constantly pushing me to realize greatness. That tough parenting was needed for a knucklehead like me. I also want to recognize my students who push my creativity and keep me young. Finally I would like to thank my daughter for pushing me to go hard daily! Daddy loves you Rhylinn!
