We had the good fortune of connecting with Ralph Etienne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ralph, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own family cleaning business was driven by a desire to create jobs and make a positive impact in the community. I wanted to build something that not only supported my family but also opened doors for others to earn a living with dignity and stability. By offering reliable cleaning services, we could help improve local homes and businesses while providing honest work to those in need. It was about giving back, creating opportunity, and making a difference one job and one clean space at a time.

What should our readers know about your business?
At the heart of Starbiz Cleaning LLC is family — and that’s exactly how we treat our clients, too.

We’re a family-owned and operated cleaning business based in Suwanee, GA, serving metro Atlanta with a deep sense of purpose, integrity, and pride. What sets us apart is not just the quality of our cleaning, but the level of care and attention we bring to every job. Whether it’s post-construction, Airbnb turnovers, medical offices, or everyday commercial cleaning, our team shows up with consistency, professionalism, and heart.

This journey didn’t start easy — like many small businesses, we began with limited resources, wearing multiple hats and taking on any job we could to build trust and reputation. There were long days and setbacks, especially during the early stages when we were still trying to find our niche. But what helped us push through was our faith, our work ethic, and the unwavering support of our family and community. Every challenge became a stepping stone.

One of our proudest accomplishments is the level of trust we’ve earned — when customers refer us to their family, friends, or fellow business owners, it means the world. We’re also proud of the team we’ve built: dependable, trained professionals who genuinely care. And we’re excited about where we’re heading — expanding our services, building new relationships, and raising the standard for what it means to be a reliable cleaning partner.

We want the world to know that Starbiz Cleaning isn’t just about wiping surfaces — it’s about lifting burdens. We understand that a clean space makes room for better energy, productivity, and peace of mind. That’s why we show up on time, communicate clearly, and clean like we mean it.

This isn’t just business for us. It’s our legacy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the Atlanta area for a week, I’d make sure they had the ultimate mix of fun, culture, and good food. We’d start with lunch at Slutty Vegan, stroll the Atlanta BeltLine, explore Ponce City Market, and end the day with dinner at Two Urban Licks and rooftop views at SkyLounge.
The next day would be all about culture—visiting the Civil Rights Museum and MLK Historic Site, followed by a soul food lunch at Busy Bee Café and an easygoing evening in Old Fourth Ward. For a more relaxing day, we’d spend time in Piedmont Park, check out the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and enjoy brunch at Highland Bakery before catching an outdoor concert or movie.

Midweek, I’d bring them up to Suwanee to see my hometown—grabbing coffee at Cafe Amico, walking the Greenway, and eating tacos at Tequila Mama before enjoying live music or food trucks at Town Center.

Day five would be full of energy at Six Flags or iFLY indoor skydiving, then winding down with a fresh seafood dinner at The Optimist. We’d spend day six exploring the artsy side of ATL—shopping in Little Five Points, visiting the Trap Music Museum or Krog Street murals, and finishing with wine and tapas at Barcelona Wine Bar.

On the last day, we’d do a classic Southern brunch at South City Kitchen, stroll through Atlantic Station, and wrap it all up with live jazz at St. James Live!—a perfect end to a fun-filled Atlanta trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to My Cornerstones!

I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my cornerstones—my mother, my sister, my wife, and our 4-year-old son, Mason. My family has been my foundation and the source of strength I draw from during life’s more challenging moments. I’m also deeply grateful to my extended family—my church community and close friends—who offered unwavering support when a dream was still just an idea. Their encouragement helped turn that idea into action, and that action into reality. I consider myself truly blessed and thankful to be surrounded by such powerful and inspiring influences.
