We had the good fortune of connecting with Racquel Wyatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Racquel, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I believe that balance is absolutely necessary in order to have a successful business & life. Especially in my field, I run this brand completely electronically. So I have to learn how to come to a good stopping point while I’m working & shut my devices off (laughs). I know for me, once I’m overwhelmed I’m not productive.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe there is no other organization like Naked & Unashamed (and if there is, LET’S WORK!). NU is mostly for the millennial generation. For those that are living their lives, thriving in their fields, being uniquely dope BUT ALSO have a heart for God. Because of that factor, they honor Him in everything they do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I’m in Columbus, GA and our city is growing which I’m very excited about. So breakfast/brunch we would probably go to Vertigo or Cafe Le Rue. Then, I’d want to take them by the river, so we’d go to Banks Food Hall to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. After relaxing awhile, i would take them to Rose’s Caribbean Restaurant for some FLAVORFUL Jamaican cuisine. (We would need a nap after that!) Once we were rested, I would take them to Treviolis on the river or The Stock Market for dinner! To the end the night, we’d go to NAVI Wine Bar (A black owned establishment) that is SUCH vibe. You can lose hours in their, from the music to the ambience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At this point in my life, the friend that keeps me accountable in life and business is Tim Bennett. He’s the CEO of Self Love University, and certainly deserves a shoutout.
