We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Reid and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, why did you pursue a creative career?
Truthfully, I never expected to pursue an artistic and creative career path, it sorta chose me. The story behind my career began many years ago (over 10 years), I was looking for a job and decided to go look for one at the local mall. I didn’t really want to go work at the mall because I hadn’t worked there since I was a teen and being in my early 20s that wasn’t where I wanted to work, however, I humbled myself and went anyways. I applied to a few places, then I saw a makeup kiosk and decided to ask if they were hiring, I mean what harm could it do, right?! The manager asked if I did my makeup, which I did, but I had not done others faces before and during that time makeup was very simple compared to now. Long story short, she hired me, two days later I was working and I had no idea what I was doing but I learned, I evolved and I continued to get better and better. So, I didn’t choose this path, it chose me. If it wasn’t for God leading me in the direction I was meant to be in I would have NEVER made this career choice. We may not always know what our purpose in life is, but trusting God, and trusting his process, you can never go wrong!

Rachel Reid Beauty is a beauty brand that provides professional cosmetic services and beauty products. We aim to enhance your natural beauty so that your can exude the beauty that lies within. So many women want to feel beautiful but still recognize themselves when they look in the mirror. Each experience is special because Rachel Reid Beauty provides not only quality services, but it’s the experience that will be unforgettable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being a native from Atlanta, the city has evolved so much. There are so many amazing places to visit and enjoy. The culture of Atlanta is remarkable and you won’t find it anywhere else! This is where African Americans can thrive and excel. Check out fun events at 595 North, or book a photoshoot to capture moments with Cat Harper Photography. Don’t forget to visit all of our attractions (World of Coca-Cola, Aquarium, Trap Museum, and so many more).
