We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Hudgins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I come from a long background in customer service. My goal for each transaction that I work with my clients is to provide them with the best experience possible. I coach my team to make sure that each client feels like they are the only client so that we are delivering personalized service. Over time I have become known for this, I have been able to build a very strong referral and repeat client business because all of my clients know that I truly care about them and their best interest. I strive to be the family Realtor for everyone I work with.
What should our readers know about your business?
I have been a licensed Realtor since 2002. I have seen the market at it’s darkest and I have seen it at it’s best. Being a Realtor isn’t an easy job contrary to popular opinion, it is time consuming, very stressful and in the beginning you are never quite sure where your next paycheck is coming from. When I started in real estate it was not technologically driven like it is today, it was a much different time. It was a time when dial up internet was all that you had at home and in order to have a good internet connection you had to go to the office. You didn’t have email on your phone, text messages weren’t a thing and there was no social media to help get your name out there. Cold calls were an every day practice, desk duty waiting on calls to come in to the office was a lead source, door knocking was the best way to be face to face and driving around leaving flyers and newsletters on mailboxes was a common business practice. We didn’t have scanners, electronic signatures or smart phones to help us stay in constant contact. The everchanging world of technology makes our business just that, everchanging. I have been very fortunate that I have been able to embrace this change and am very proud of all that I have accomplished. I am very much a self made woman and I have built my business up to a level in the last 8 years that I never believed possible. I attribute my success to my understanding and use of social media. People ask me all the time how I generate so much business and my answer is always simple, Social Media. It’s a great place for people to see me as the business woman that I am, but also see the personal side of me and the things that I enjoy. Building my brand has taken me a long time, but I can finally say that I have a brand and that people recognize it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots around town…. Hands down my favorite restaurant in the city is R. Thomas’, I have been eating there since I was a kid. My mom always took me there before we would go to The Fox to see a Broadway show. I love all of the birds and the atmosphere not to mention the food. I used to love when she would take me there for Brunch because I am a breakfast lover. It’s a must! A close second is The Vortex, AMAZING burgers and cocktails. It’s always an experience. My friends and I love to get a group together and go down for an afternoon of cocktails and good food! My favorite part of the experience is reading the rules for customers on their menu, it’s spot on! My favorite site to see is The Fox Theater. I love Broadway and I love going to a show. Anyone who comes into town and is new to the area needs to go see a show at The Fox. It is unlike any place you will ever go. The architecture is like nothing I have ever seen.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I joined the RE/MAX Pure family almost five years ago. The continued support that I receive from my Broker Wendy Bunch and her husband Tom Heyer with Motto Mortgage has been one of the driving forces in what has made me the agent that I am today. Wendy is a very positive influence to everyone around her. She has been my cheerleader in my good times and my shoulder to lean on in my bad. Wendy is always there for each and every agent when they need her and her positive attitude and vibrant personality are what everyone needs to help you move forward and keep pushing even when times get tough. She is a great role model for women in Real Estate and I am very thankful to not only call her my Broker, but to call her my friend.
