We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Marks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachael, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of FemSweat is our focus on wellness through variety. Routine can often feel boring and static, but many women crave the opportunity to try different activities while still prioritizing their self-care. FemSweat bridges that gap by offering a diverse range of fitness and wellness experiences, from boxing to barre, hot yoga, tennis, and more. By partnering with wellness providers, we give our members the chance to explore and try these activities in a supportive environment. This commitment to variety keeps our offerings exciting and ensures that wellness becomes a lifestyle, not just a routine.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
FemSweat was born out of a simple yet powerful mission: to provide a well-rounded approach to wellness that focuses on variety, community, and empowerment. Our philosophy is that wellness shouldn’t feel like a chore or be limited to one activity. Instead, it should be an exciting journey where women can explore different ways to move their bodies, connect with others, and prioritize self-care.

What sets FemSweat apart is our dedication to variety and collaboration. We started with outdoor sweat sessions and workouts, but as the seasons changed, we adapted. Now, we partner with wellness providers who not only offer indoor spaces but also provide their services at discounted or complimentary rates for our members. This unique approach allows women to try everything from hot yoga to tennis, boxing, barre, reformer Pilates and more, all while feeling supported by a vibrant community.

The idea for FemSweat came from my own journey. As a cybersecurity professional, I often found myself glued to my computer, overwhelmed, and physically inactive. The lack of balance in my life was draining both mentally and physically, and I realized that many women, especially those juggling demanding careers or motherhood, faced the same challenge. Initially, my goal was to create a wellness community centered around pre- and postnatal women, but FemSweat quickly grew into something much bigger, it’s now a space for every woman, no matter her stage of life.

The road to building FemSweat hasn’t been easy. Starting something new comes with its challenges, weather changes, low attendance at times, and the growing pains of scaling a brand. But I’ve learned that resilience and adaptability are key. By staying focused on our mission and listening to the needs of our community, we’ve continued to grow and evolve.

What I want the world to know about FemSweat is that it’s more than just fitness—it’s about creating options and opportunities for women to explore wellness in a way that feels exciting and sustainable. It’s a reminder that you don’t have to stick to one routine or go through your wellness journey alone. At FemSweat, we’re redefining what it means to take care of yourself, one versatile step at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d take them to The High Museum of Art for First Fridays, where art, music, and cocktails collide, followed by live jazz at St. James Live. We’d grab coffee at Boteco, an Afro-Brazilian café that turns into a lively dance spot at night. A hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park or Kennesaw Mountain would be perfect for some fresh air, followed by a rooftop evening at Ponce City Market.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
