We had the good fortune of connecting with Quonda Renee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quonda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I honestly stumbled on my business when I was in one of the hardest seasons of my life. I had 3 degrees and couldn’t find a good career. I was struggling working little side gigs like Postmates, Uber, Scoring SATs, whatever I could do to make money. But something on the inside of me didn’t feel like I was living or walking in purpose. I felt like there was more to life than working all these gigs and still broke. So being a woman of faith, I went on a fast and prayed and got the idea to start my company, but even then I didn’t know it would be a company. It blew up and grew so fast but it showed me that with God all things are possible.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m most proud of my drive, my ability to keep going, and to get back up no matter what is thrown my way. I got this far by hard work and faith; it was not easy I had another plan for my life I just wanted to work for a TV Network in the marketing department but God took someone like me with little experience and allowed me to create my own digital network. Anything you build that’s bigger than you will have its challenges, for me I had to learn to stay in faith, plan, study, and execute. One important lesson I’ve learned is that your business may not be for everyone and that’s ok, you have to find out who your business is for serve those people, be specific, know your target audience and give value to them. I would like others to know that when you make God the center and head of everything in your life there’s nothing you can’t do. The possibilities are endless. He took me from broke, busted, and disgusted to serving clients all over the world and having a network that reaches millions every week.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friend to Buckhead. We would go to Spa Sydell, eat at The Capital Grille, definitely do a little shopping at Phipps and Lenox, and of course take them by Tyler Perry Studios so they can see the beautiful studio.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God deserves all the credit and recognition in my story/journey. My faith is what led me to believe in the purpose and plan God had for my life. I am a product of the miraculous. I literally went from nothing to something by the grace of God.
