We had the good fortune of connecting with Quetta Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quetta, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Being risky is the best way to stay CONSISTENT. Never stop being who I AM & what I LOVE to do , One down fall and it’s back to square 1 , which means I go 3 times harder than I did the first time.

The role In taking risk is being motivated & invested into the work of art . People are not going to be interested if I don’t go out there and promote

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My brand name is OpenYourMind because its no judgement. YOU be YOU without feeling like you have a walk on eggshells around “ normal people “ everyone is weird in their own way . I always told myself “everything will be okay don’t get so discouraged , you got this “ Without my support team , I wouldn’t be able to get this far in my career . It’s crazy to say photography was just a hobby and now it’s my passion and creativity .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Once in a lifetime my bestfriend Ashlee Robinson took me to this Amazing place called theskinhausatl ,8 N Clarendon Ave Avondale Estates, Georgia. A black owned business to get a facials and professional services by a amazing person Renasgarden_skin and told me “ you are the photographer, show them how you work” I posted those pictures the day after and people were booking like crazy for portraits . Until this day I thank her for helping me promote my work .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
FIRST & FOR MOST My support group who really help me build my portfolio. But most importantly I would give the honor to my parents. If it wasn’t for my dad quitting a 9-5 and starting from the ground and being fully successful, I wouldn’t be so motivated to be a photographer. He would tell me the struggles & success of growing your own business . but always told me to “ never quit , always hustle , You gonna be big one day” I never stopped believing in myself .
