We had the good fortune of connecting with Queon Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Queon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my grandmother Mrs Julia Mae Thornton passing on Memorial Day in 2008 I knew I want to do something in the honor of her name. Julia Hands Of Love Nonprofit start off in 2008 to honor my grandmother..I knew anything came to my mind I just did it

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Start Queon Shine And Go , Shine & Go Cleaning Service , and my heart Julia Hands Of Love Nonprofit. I learn to shine in every angle of life and never give up on what I believe in..I face a few obstacles in my life but I never let that stop me I just believe in my faith Just do it.My passion is helping others in life. I proud that I built a brand but also a nonprofit to help people in the community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I more big when it come down to family places but l love brunch spot. I really can’t say I have a favorite but to name a few the Breakfast Club, Top Golf, Tin Liszt, Tavern Jr Crickets, Juicy Crab, and Trap Cafe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God for allow me the day to make a difference in so many life. I want to thank my Mother Pequena Thornton for never giving up on me. I want to thank my Grandmother Julia Mae Thornton for teaching me how to love and continue to stand on faith even when time get hard.
I want thank My cousin Kim Thornton for encouraging words she give me.
I want to thank my sister Merica Lilly, my aunt Jackie Thornton, my uncle Marion Thornton, my uncle Tex Thornton, Donnie Thornton, and my auntie Tasha Thornton. I want to thank my sponsor 1800 truck ,Amy Witherite , and her staff for helping me feed the community twice a month.
I also want to thank my husband Ceon Battle motivate me to shine no matter what .I want to thank one of my partner in serving the community with me DeVincia Richardson .Some many people give me advice from church family and many others for just a word of advice.
