We had the good fortune of connecting with Quenise Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quenise, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business after reading lots of literature about finances and building wealth. I started out reading a book titled ‘Multiple Streams of Income’ by Robert G. Allen, followed by ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert T. Kiyosaki. I went on to read several other books that all seemed to point to real estate and the stock market. Although I am intrigued by both subject matters, real estate was at the forefront for me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from the rest is my desire to give my clients the best experience during our working relationship. I’m very transparent, honest, and professional. I work hard to make sure they get the best service with the least amount of stress. I am passionately involved in real estate, I love different niches within it. My first love is investing, I’ve dabbled in it and working to get more heavily involved with rehabs and buy and hold properties. I love the luxury realm as well, I’ve taken additional training to get better positioned to best serve clients in that market. Lastly, I have a strong attraction to commercial real estate, I’m planning to tackle that market in the future.
I got to where I am today business-wise by working hard, lots of determination, and a great supportive team around me. The journey has not been easy but has truly been rewarding.
I’ve learned many lessons along the way, one being I can’t do it alone, teamwork definitely makes the dream work. I’ve learned the importance of having a good network, building strong lasting relationships. I’ve learned the importance of being good to people, even when they may not be good to you. I’ve learned that every day wont be a good one, but the tomorrows usually reign brighter.
At the end of it all, I want the world to know that I’ve positioned myself to be of good service to my tribe, my community, and my clients. I hope to expand my reach and touch lives globally. I hold myself accountable to any actions, or lack thereof, that I inadvertently commit and with that level of awareness and responsibility, I’m always “checking” myself. I’m building a strong, reputable, powerhouse brand that I want to outlive me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town for a week and I wanted to show them a great time there are several places we’d visit. First, restaurant wise (because we love to eat) we’d visit a few of my favs in no particular order but Lickety Split, Busy Bee Cafe, The Beautiful Restaurant, Negril ATL, Milk and Honey Restaurant, Breakfast at Barneys, Roc South Cuisine, Hatie Marie’s BBQ, Atlanta Breakfast Club, Little Alley Steakhouse, Capital Grille, Bones, and The Garden Room. We’d definitely have to check out cool spots like Colony Square, Buckhead Village District, Little Five Points, The Beltline, Piedmont and Centennial Parks, The Aquarium. We’d take a drive to one of the outlets as well as check out Lennox, Phipps Plaza and Perimeter malls. I’d plan for us to ride scooters around Midtown/Downtown, we’d checkout Ponce City Market, catch a rooftop party, some live music, and kayak the Chattahoochee. Those are some of the things and places I’d take her to experience.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to send a special shoutout to my super supportive family, close friends, work colleagues who have all been encouraging, uplifting, motivating and just plain amazing through this journey. They each have had a special role at some point and seemed to play their parts at just the right time.
