We had the good fortune of connecting with Queen Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Queen, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
The day you wake up and think about your career path and goal and it doesn’t feel the same and you don’t yearn for it like you used to after meditating stepping back evaluating the situation you just can’t find that one spark to motivate you to continue to go that’s when you know your heart may not be into it anymore but through the dark times if you can find that one spark that makes you remember why you started then you know to keep going no matter how little the spark is or how long it took you to find the spark again if you were able to feel it just a little keep going!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What makes me stand out from other dance choreographers I wanna say is my creative content I always try to make it more so like a video production then like the dance studio class not knocking those who do because those videos from other dance choreographers still be dope but I try to like set mines apart on more so music video visuals cause that’s what kind of spark my interest in dancing growing up the music video so that’s how I distinguish myself I’m excited to start back creating this last month I kind of took off to just get my spark back and get my mind right and get back the go getter mentality that I had and reevaluate to make things better its nothing wrong with stopping to analyze yourself to make things better. Professionally I don’t even believe I have bought enough to the table but when I kinda take a look at my resume I see that I’ve done things that most can’t say they have done or got to experience. but it was not easy come by the gigs that I did get for most a lot of my personal opportunities have been word-of-mouth and people seeing me perform at live events. To be honest with word of mouth you have to then go and show people you have to then go and show people why people been talking about you so it’s a lot more pressure because now people are expecting you to be this amazing person because of word-of-mouth so it’s kind like you got a show out 10 times harder so it was not easy it’s still not easy I’m still working hard every day to be better than myself self motivation helps you get through the obstacles in difficult times I promise you and then if you have a group of people you can’t talk to you are lucky like I am happy to have wonderful friends and wonderful family that I can kind of lean on when I’m not feeling so good.The lesson that I learned is that you can’t rush your time but you never know when your time is you have to keep the faith keep the motivation and know it’s going to come but you have to work for you always got to get knowledge if someone is giving you tokens to use to implement in your craft so everything can work listen that’s one thing I can say know who to take advice from know who not to take advice from but when you’re getting that advice don’t be big head and think you know it all take their advice I promise you you got to take that advice. Really my overall message is just to give more jobs to dance choreographers dancers artist outside of rap home real artist a draw because it’s very scarce in art well a lot of artists a starving artist if you’re not a rapper or singer you won’t really get hurt if you’re not a videographer you’re not really getting hurt so I’m trying to create more job aids for dance choreography for artists like myself there are so many people aware of paintings now I’m trying to create job opportunities in multiple overlooked art fields .Many people are hands on with art parties like sip and paint and dance classes for ladies night and other themed events visuals have always appealed a crowd so funding it shouldn’t be a problem with dedication. When it comes to art everybody loves to look at it and or do it but a lack of funding is supported behind it like other jobs when it’s just as important;And with progression start the process of aid for dance teachers to teach dance and to show different styles of dance that’s my biggest goal that’s Queens goal of 2021 !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being born and raise in Atlanta coming from urban areas and also being shown a better life as well on the luxury end I would take them different places with different vibes so my itineraries going to be a little different than most people so let’s get into it first take them to the classic strip club they got to experience that one time in their life especially here in Atlanta Classic blue flame I am from the west side so lol but also they just opened up diamonds of Atlanta as well so maybe check out that strip club. For more luxury city view the

For good vibes dancing and drinks I’m gonna take them to Edgewood Summertime vibes Harold’s chicken a must have.Ponce city market that’s definitely something that should be shown to visitors of our city And while we’re out that way take them to the Boogalou lounge for lunch that’s definitely a nice place to go sit on the swings and eat its different.The last place is a hidden secret maybe one of the best Jamaican spots in Atlanta it’s l a hole in a wall but it’s a vibe I love it

To everyone who supported me from the jump from when I started back then to currently.From anyone who liked a picture, post, bought a product,dmed me,texted me sent me words of encouragement to keep going or told me how I was motivation to them through my art you all deserve a shout out because without you all I wouldn’t continue to keep going I wouldn’t know if anyone even liked what I was doing ,so even though we don’t look for validation through others its always good to hear someone say how they like what you created.
