We had the good fortune of connecting with Quadiyyah Monae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quadiyyah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When i first started my own business i was first scared. Scared because it was something i wasn’t seeing a lot of around me at the time. Everyone was relying on jobs and here i am being bold. I knew i wanted freedom of working for myself but i couldn’t figure out how i would make a living off of something inconsistent. I was tired of working 9-5 jobs dealing with managers who could care less about me and my personal life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others is how detailed, authentic and thourugh i am. Also the way i care for people who spend money with me. I’m most proud about being a 25 year old mom running a full time business and finding balance in it all. I was able to get to where i am today with God. Allowing him to lead the way and following his footsteps. Also with consistency. Being consistent and building a community that trusts me. Getting to this point was hard but i overcome challanges by remaining focused and keeping faith in God because i understand he will not let me fail.

Along the way i have learned to stay focused on your vision and to not alter your vision based on what somebody else has in their life. I also learned to build a brand that people love and respect before just trying to attach yourself to everyone in the industry. People feel better about networking when you bring something to the table as well.

I want people to know that the business that i have was built when i had $500 to my name and i was a single mother. I sat down, wrote out a plan and executed. I showed up every single day to reach my goal. I didn’t know if i was doing it right but i had to start to figure that part out. I spent 2 months educating myself on business building online and got my coaching certification before i publically came out as a coach.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to the city because i live in atlanta. We would visit a restaurant name fin and feathers on edgewood and then divans for dinner. I would also take them to peachtree. one of my favorite parks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a soecial shout out to my daughter Jeonni Nichole for being the reason behind mommy’s hustle. When i had my daughter, i went into the mode of making sure i was a good leader for her to follow. I would also like to give a shout out to my mom because seeing her kill entreprenuership gave me the push that i needed to know, i will succeed even when i create something of my own!
