We had the good fortune of connecting with Q The Philosopher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Q, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started an career as a creator because it felt like something I needed to be doing. I love music and seeing everything that can be done with it was something that inspired me. I want to inspire and give perspective on things that no one else is talking about. To do that creatively with my music is what I live to do. Take a music video for example, the video usually tells a story from the song that you may or may not have realized was the focus. That may not be a big deal to everyone but for a song to have another level of understanding is amazing to me. It gives a deeper meaning. Art has depth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is about situations and feelings that are or resemble real life. I like to be vivid in my imagery and details because I am telling a story. I feel like I am setting myself apart because I am saying what I want to say and not talking about anything typical. Not every song has a defining lesson but I like my songs to make you think and have you locked in on every bar. What is most exciting to me is that I get to be as creative and lyrical as I want. I put a lot of thought behind my lyrics and I wouldn’t be here today if I did not. What is also exciting is that I keep developing new skills. I put in a lot of hours to develop my individual abilities and I learned that they will only keep improving in time as long as I keep putting in work. Personally, I want people to know that I am competitor and always will be. I am always in constant competition with myself to be better than I was yesterday. So that means that there will always be more and something new that I can present for people to enjoy.

With that being said I want all of my supporters and anybody that I may inspire to know that what’s most important is to know yourself. I aim to aid in that journey through my own expression because I know how hard things can feel when things aren’t going well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely would not be where I am today without the help of MGD. He has been an active participant in my music career whether it be working with me on a project or just giving advice.
