We had the good fortune of connecting with Prinscilla Branigan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Prinscilla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Initially, it was to have another source of income. In my experimenting phase, I quickly learned that I could incorporate my love for herbs and all things natural.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve worked in the senior living field for the past 6 years, as a marketing and sales director. During the last 3 years I was able to start 2 businesses, one of them being RootWorks Herbals. Root Works is my baby! My very first business idea and execution. I brought a vision to life on my own and I am most proud of that. My second business is also something that I envisioned, however; i am co-owner and share all aspects of this business with my partner. I am now a full time entrepreneur and focusing on growing both of my businesses. I am still overcoming every challenge in front of me, it’s a constant thing, one hurdle at a time. I’m learning to pace myself and be patient. I am aware that nothing comes over night. I would love for people to see me in my brands, especially with Root Works. I want people to experience my brand, not jut know about it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Of course, we would go to Chicago! You can spend a day downtown during a variety of things. The food is the best, it’s not just a Chicago thing, it’s the truth. The Magnificent Mile is great for shopping. But because Chicago is so big, we can leave the downtown area and do other things like indoor skydiving, the zoo, historical tours, bar hopping, sports games, different clubs, boating, hit the beach.. you name it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank all of my close friends and family for being my support system. From sharing posts, offering words of encouragement, and even providing constructive criticism; I can count on my people! As an entrepreneur, I find that it is extremely important to have some good people in your corner who support you.
