We had the good fortune of connecting with Princess Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Princess, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is something that I always talk to people about, because it’s something that I did with the belief that I would be successful. In 2014, I quit my job working at a restaurant at Stonecrest. My dad an I had a conversation one day that gave me the courage to quit. I was trying to establish both my businesses, attending events, hosting events…all while working a job. Two jobs at one point. My dad said if I wanted to quit, just do it. He would take care of the bills. One day I got tired of my job and quit without anything to fall back on except the belief that I could have a successful business. I had no money saved and only had my last two checks to look forward to. Within 2 weeks of quitting, I made three times more than I made at my job, and I never looked back. I don’t recommend anyone quite with nothing, but I do encourage people to take a risk. At least you can say you tried if it doesn’t work out the first time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have multiple businesses. I never wanted to limit myself, The business that I am currently trying to build is my online apothecary, Aikido Enchanted. I sell spiritual products, medicinal products, and offer herbalism courses. What sets me apart from others is that I am truly trying to show people a healthier way of living mentally, physically and spiritually, all at the same time. The thing about this business that I’m most excited about is offering mini courses for people that cover hyper-specific topics if they don’t want to go through the full course just to learn about one specific thing.

I got to where I am today because I am using my background in the medical filed along with my background in herbalism to provide the best information and services. This journey has taught me to be more patient, and I want people to know that Aikido Enchanted was created to help people take control of their overall health.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite places to go is the Ponce City Market. I like to start my day early, so breakfast at Pancake Social is a must. Lunch would be at Pho King or The Garden Room, dinner at Green Ginger Asian Fusion, and drinks would be at 12 Cocktail Bar. I’m a Target, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls kind of girl, so in between, we’d shop and look for cute dresses and home decor.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sister has always been one of the few people who would listen to my business ideas, and someone who was and still is always encouraging. She and I are able to give each other advice without being biased just because we’re sisters. So she has definitely always put a battery in my back to keep me going.
