We had the good fortune of connecting with Priestess St. Journey Is and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priestess St. Journey, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own business not only to serve and fulfill the needs of people who are discovering themselves, but it has always been a belief that passion is a crucial quality of success. Having the ability to direct the culture of your company and service is so paramount. The fire in my heart tells me that my purpose in the world far surpasses the reality of being an employee.
I personally believe that success looks like a beautiful balance of achievement and quality of life. My business, Sum Good JuJu puts me in a place where I generate healthy income and build sustainable teams with like-minded people. One of my ultimate goals is to redefine leadership and what it means to be running a conscious- based company.

Nothing beats being able to choose when I work, how I work, and with whom I work. Best of all, I do not have to make the choice between time for family, passion, service and business.
Starting and maintaining a business requires a lot and yet the challenges provide so many profound opportunities to grow and in such a wonderful way.
The setbacks, the risks and the losses all end up being gains. The benefit to dancing through it all is the satisfaction of seeing your creation come to light while proving light for others.
And the bonus of knowing that my daughter is learning by observing me working and playing within my business, that’s the greatest accomplishment, and she likes to shop. lol

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m Priestess St. Journey is ,owner of Sum Good JuJu is a house of spiritual counsel. I specialize in providing divination by way of psychic mediumship readings/advisory and throwing bones. I’m also a practitioner of root-work and ceremonial work using sacred plants/psychedelics and sound as a medium of healing and exploration of consciousness.

My main objective is to consistently provide treatments that focus on the connection between mind, body and spirit.
My work being solely heart-based is what sets Sum Good JuJu apart from others. I strive to give people tools that will align them with their own inner wisdom. Every moment that I can guide someone through a dark space, everyone who has been able to reconcile a relationship with an ancestor, friend or loved one through the space I create, every moment I’ve been able to give someone clarity are proud moments.
Through me, every song that has been sung, inducing peace within someone, every moment I’ve helped someone remember the strength of their own power, I’m tremendously proud of it all.
For me, one moment hasn’t been more significant than the other. They all make my heart smile. My life and work are all filled with proud moments and miracles.
Where am I am today has truly been a nonlinear journey of many sunsets and sunrises. It has been beautifully chaotic. I cannot say it’s been easy, but it’s been beautiful. I’ve always been a huge advocate of ” practicing what I preach”. I overcome the dark parts of my journey by giving myself permission to stop, reset and rest. I can’t honestly say I’ve “overcome” I’m actively overcoming. The main thing that helps me in getting through my challenges is simply asking for help. I can’t do it all, nor do I want to.
The world knows that Sum Good JuJu is sacred space. We believe in the Magick within the mundane

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, ok. Bestie is coming to town were stopping at Tassili raw reality for vegan wraps, head to Piedmont park with blankets and speaker and life is glorious. Id probably end the night riding scooters on the belt line and talking to strangers about random things.

Because I’m a nature buff, the Botanical Gardens is definitely on the list of fun paces wed go. And it has to be at night, the light show is everything. It feels like you’re in Avatar. Its so magical.

Night life spots are endless here in ATL. But I love a good cigar, good drinks. small plates, casual/sexy/business dress code and vibes, Fellaship hits the spot for that.
Skyline Park is pretty dope too for a bit of night life/gaming activities.

Floatatlanta for some float therapy, would be a monumental experience for a visitor looking to do things that aren’t so main stream. I love things that aren’t so typical. I like fun and meaningful things. I’m utilitarian. lol

Tallulah Gorge State Park for a day to do some hiking and check out some water falls will always gives life.
GA has some of the best waterfalls and nature hangouts.

Because who doesn’t like a good selfie, The self Museum makes taking selfies feel like you have a whole photographer experience

Can’t forget to include Phoenix and Dragon on the list of cool places to stop by. They have a huge selection of crystals, books, spiritual tools/services and the coolest random black cats roaming around. I love that place.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people and authors who have inspired my journey. So many deserve recognition.
I’ll first start with my husband St. SeVen who has been my biggest support system. He reassures me that I’m “not that crazy” even though I kinda am. lol

There’s an elder from Jamaica that I met many many moons ago by the name of Rose Roye who became a great teacher and friend. She taught me about the workings of the Earth and the Spiritual world. Her contribution to my life and my work lives with me forever.
I also have a dedicated shout-out to Zora Neale Hurston, writer and anthropologist. Her work examining black culture and folklore has influenced me and many others to serve in way that is ancestral.

I can list a whole library of books that ignited me but there’s one in particular that really cracked me open.
This book was a game changer at a point when I was seeking to understand life.
The book that did it for me was Conversations with God. I was no longer the same after reading this book.
