We had the good fortune of connecting with Pouring Emotions and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pouring, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Favorite quote/affirmation would probably have to be: “Everything in due time”…For me, it just allows you to be…be right where you are. Allowing the cards to fall where they may. Understanding everything that IS for you, will be for YOU…it may not happen when you want it, but it will happen…and sometimes, some thing NOT happening is still a form of “everything in due time”.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One continuous line…that’s what started it all…it was something i did on the back of notebooks in high school and has been with me ever since..I didn’t realize it then but eventually it would become meditative for me. “One Liners” as I like to call them, is where I draw one continuous line , usually using acrylic paint and/or paint markers, that never touches or crosses itself. A truly organic style that one can quickly get lost in. Drawing my “One Liners” puts me at ease, allows me to slow down, be present and focused and my goal is for it to do the same for my collectors. My “One Liners” are never sketched out. I keep the entire process as organic and free flowing as I can and process the inspiration as it comes.

Even though I am no where near where I want to be professionally, I am still a work in progress! The hardest thing to battle is yourself. I was disagnosed with depression and anxiety in 2017 but between therapy and finding a creative outlet, they saved my life!

One thing I’d want the world to know is that I put my heart and soul into my work…putting myself and my art out there is one of the scariest things I have ever decided to do, but its given me so many opportunties to meet people from all over, make art friends I didnt know I needed and the crazy idea that someone wants my work in their space…its a feeling I dont think I’ll ever get used to but dont get it twisted, I am beyond thankful!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be perfectly honest, I am a homebody. I love staying indoors with my favorite movies (when I’m not working on new art) but if I had to plan something, we’d totally hit up one of my favorite coffee spots in Jersey City, NJ, “Tree House”. A small, family owned coffee shop. Gotta hit up a diner, my favorite place would have to be, “Tops Diner”, in Kearny, NJ. We are gonna take a drive out to Philly for a Philly Cheesesteak for sure! And we are gonna take a trip to “Yestercades”, and play some old school games! I love nature, so a walk in the park, sitting by water is good for me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all the souls that continue to do their damnest to be human. Who do their damnest to be as authentic as they can despite the world trying to tell them otherwise. Whatever sets your soul on fire, do that! And to my family, who have been the most supportive, and patient even when I was the most difficult to deal with.
