We had the good fortune of connecting with Plane Jayne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Plane, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Honestly, and I don’t care how cliche this sounds however I can’t stress this enough…GOD, GOD && more GOD! I always thought and believed I had a relationship with GOD but growing up I’ve realized that relationship was very one-sided, and honestly it wasn’t a relationship at all. I grew up in the church, I was accustomed to being there sometimes 4 and 5 days out the week when i was younger, so as i grew, of course I use to pray here and there but never nothing serious. I was structured and rooted in the word, but i never knew it and experienced GOD for myself. I never really pursued him, I never sat down in meditation and listened for his voice and worshipped in the midst of waiting. I never really received clear and concise instructions from him and honestly I never really asked GOD what HE wanted for my life and who did he create me to be and why. That unknown started to build a deep hunger, I was starving for revelation, and what i received was worth more than gold. I started seeing myself the way GOD seen me. I started going after the things he told and showed me and life has never been the same. The best decision I’ve ever made was giving GOD a yes. Look where it brought me, here, having this conversation with you.

GoD created only one me, and well that is my superpower. I love deeply, i create expressively and my music is a combination of the two. Im not afraid to be a lover in this day n age and generation. Love still excites me and thats what im excited about. Im excited about giving people an experience and a feeling that life sometimes doesn’t. I have so much love to give and the people of the world have so much love they need and they going to get through this music *winks*. My latest song “Leaving Voicemails” is a great experience to begin with, because lyrics of the soul can never grow old. I am where i am today simply from choosing to keep going and staying focus, which is not easy. Everyone wants to the ability to pivot, but no one mentions the ability to just get up, so you can. Thats what life thus far has taught me, life is going to do what it does and the same need to go for you and i….To keep doing what we do, knowing that even if today isn’t my day, i have to get to tomorrow. Because what tomorrow brings can change everything. I would like the world to know, that good music, love music, soul music still exists.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im from Miami, which is the city, but i feel like i have a country heart. So I’ll start by saying No South Beach. I would start with a relaxing breakfast on the water at one of my favorite “Ma and Pa” diners Georgio’s. They have great food as well as healthy options and cant forget the unlimited mimosas. I love the boat and yacht tours that take you all over the city, you get to see some of the most coolest places but also my favorite the big houses and mansions. We also can go biking all over for a more intimate experience of the city. I would take them to different farmers markets and definitely strawberry picking downsouth. I love going to the gun range, or taking dance lessons to get the mind n body moving. but theres also more relaxing things like making your own candle or a good paint n sip. We have tons of museums like the museum of illusion where you can take pics all day. Miami heat is always playing so definitely have to hit up a game and dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Capital Grille. and end the day at rooftop cinema. Wynwood is always a vibe, its all types of food, all types of music and people, with all the things to do you’ll never be bored.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Family. I don’t know anyone who supports me more then my family, and for that Im grateful. My niece knows some of my lyrics better than i do, from my mom and dad, sister and cousins who’s always asking for new music and what i am working on next. Being a artist requires sacrifice, Im not always home, and having my son, it truly takes a village. Keeping me motivated, keeping me focus and allowing time so i can have a creative space and freedom. However the name thats greater than my own is my man. Anthony Waters! Who’s also the Beat maker and producer to all of my music, I have a dream and its dope to have someone carry out that dream with you and puts in the same effort, work and consistency it takes to see
