We had the good fortune of connecting with Pinique Singleton, the founder of Entrepreneurship Is Dope and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pinique, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was to create a life of freedom. I was tired of the 9-5 grind working for someone else. I wanted to be able to control my own schedule and my own salary. That’s when I started my videography business. My main source of income is creating video content for entrepreneurs and small business owners. I also teach photography and videography with my business partner, BrandonShotMe, through our course called Shooters Camp. I then started the Entrepreneurship Is Dope clothing line because Entrepreneurship really is DOPE! And I felt like it should be on a shirt. Lol. Entrepreneurship is Dope is not just a clothing brand. It’s a lifestyle. All entrepreneurs should definitely have this shirt!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Like I mentioned earlier, my bread and butter is my Videography Business (shooting and teaching). I create video content for entrepreneurs and small business owners. I also teach photography and videography alongside my business partner, BrandonShotMe via our course called Shooters Camp. However, you all reached out to me regarding this interview on my Entrepreneurship Is Dope Instagram page, so I’m going to try to keep my answers geared towards that business for the rest of the interview. With that being said, let me tell you a little more about the brand… Entrepreneurship is Dope is a clothing brand for entrepreneurs! We currently have an online store where we sell t-shirts, hoodies, and backpacks. This merchandise is so dope because when you wear it, it actually helps you to grow your business. I’ve had so many people tell me (I’ve also experienced this myself on numerous occasions) that when they wear the shirt, people stop them and ask them what they do or what kind of business they have. This shirt is truly a conversation starter that could lead you to your next client or customer. If you’re an entrepreneur, you need this shirt! Our brand is still fairly new, so you can definitely help us spread the word by going to our website and grabbing one for yourself and all of your entrepreneur friends!

Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported us and purchased merchandise so far! We truly appreciate you!

And to all the entrepreneurs out there, keep pushing. Entrepreneurship is DOPE, but we never said there wouldn’t be challenges. We never said it would always be easy. But I promise you, it will definitely be worth it.

I have been truly blessed throughout my entrepreneurship journey so far. But I think the key to that is not being afraid to invest in yourself via courses and coaching, having great mentors, and surrounding yourself with the right circle. If you do these things, you’ll see just how DOPE Entrepreneurship really is!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I actually moved to Atlanta when I began my journey as a Full-Time Entrepreneur. This is definitely the place to be for entrepreneurs, especially black entrepreneurs! Atlanta is super dope. If you’re looking for things to do in Atlanta, I’m probably not the best person to ask because I don’t really go out much. Lol. But Atlanta is definitely a vibe and there’s always something going on. Now I do like to eat, so I can definitely recommend a few restaurants… When you visit ATL you MUST eat at Slutty Vegan! You’re also going to want to check out Toast on Lenox, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, Plant-Based Pizzeria. These are just a few of the restaurants I’ve tried here in Atlanta, but I hear there are many more that are highly recommended!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a huge Shoutout to BrandonShotMe. He’s an amazing mentor and coach. Not just in the videography/photography space, but in business in general. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today, a successful Full-Time Entrepreneur, without his mentorship, guidance, and expertise. He’s the reason I’ve been able experience how DOPE this Entrepreneur Life truly is, which was the inspiration behind me creating my clothing brand called Entrepreneurship Is Dope. Can I give one more shout out?… Brandon is the one who taught me about photography/videography, running my own business and being an entrepreneur. But when you ask me about shout outs and who deserves some credit for me being where I am today, there’s no way I can NOT mention my mom! She’s ALWAYS supported me in EVERYTHING I’ve ever wanted to do throughout my life. She never once discouraged me or tried to talk me out of the ideas I had regarding entrepreneurship or anything else. She has been an AMAZING support system and has played an instrumental role in my success!
